We Made It! (Arrived in Japan)
Finally, our 900NM sail towards Japan has wrapped up and we find ourselves in a new country, culture and way of life! 🌸
Given nobody we know sails here, it's fair to say that in today's episode we're in for a few surprises!
Join us this week as we sail to the Amami archipelago, but not before reflecting on some of the highlights of Okinawa including its communities, marine parks, and historical sites.
Riles and I are so excited to share our adventures in Japan with you, and are so grateful for your guys support. We hope you enjoy this early preview of today's episode.
With love from Japan,
Elayna, Riley, Lenny & Darwin
PS: We're loving your suggestions of what you'd love to see us experience in Japan. Now that you know our sail path, keep the great ideas coming..

The country looks so green and beautiful and welcoming. I am feeling so lucky to be traveling with all of you. Beautiful sailing! Feel a bit of your rib pain along with you… had that problem myself one time… but without little kids and being on a sailboat… if I remember correctly I spent a lot of time lying around reading or listening to books. Looking forward to seeing Tokyo thru your eyes.
Just catching up! Great Sailing ⛵️ 😄
Cheers Richard!
So impressive that you have made it to Japan despite a broken mast base and Elay’s broken rib. You guys model resilience and make such good decisions about who you have on board helping you be sane and safe. So inspiring!
Love the episodes where the POV makes me feel like I'm right there sailing with you!
Content and editing is really high quality. Thank you for taking us along to Japan.
"...I'm totally not weird at all..." Not surprised they don't reply to that ! 🤣🤣
I love Japan. I have been there in many lifetimes.
which one of you pilots the drone? your shots are epic, and it can't be easy to launch and recover when you're underway!
That'd be Elayna mate. She's a natural!
Epic!
Darwin is way cooler than I will ever be . . .
I loved my trip to Japan from the states. Stayed in a Ryokan, a traditional Japanese and it was amazing with delicious food served in the traditional style! Also took a paper making course in Mino, (where school children come to make paper too) ~ a village where everything is about handmade paper. Best sushi was fresh at the Tokyo Fish Market . . . Kyoto was amazing - and need to go back to see the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove - The trip was a dream! Enjoy!
How is E's rib? . . . Last I saw you were in the hospital and not so much mentioned in this video . . . Looks like you still might be in pain . . . xoxo
I love the drone shots of Vaga with the Code Zero up and just two wakes behind her. That's SMOKIN' along. I was stationed on Oki, many years ago, before y'all were born. Beautiful place and people.
Cheers Wayne, always appreciate your words. The drone shots are all Elayna's work 😊
Hi guys, why do you have to weigh the boat more then once?
It's never been properly weighed using a correctly calibrated scale, hence getting it weighed
Oodle of noodles for yoodles! Enjoy Nippon ❤️❤️ from a different perspective than most of us. Making math more fun on a Monday!
Gotta try out a themed love hotel 😆
Go to Nozawa Onsen, great ski resort and you can stay on the mountain, baths etc. Get a rail pass and travel all over. Enjoy.
