We're in the South China Sea!
šÆšµ We're sailing to JAPAN!? (We still can't quite believe it!).
After spending the past two weeks living in one very humid boat yard, we're finally on our way! With the sails set and having lost sight of land, this is one heck of a pinch me moment for our family... and one we are absolutely stoked to share with you all today.
Join us as we dodge typhoons, skirt the boundary of rough and calm weather (due to a tropical depression) and keep tacking up toward Okinawa.
Riles and I could never have achieved this moment without your guys support, and we are forever grateful for it. We hope you enjoy this early preview of tomorrow's episode.
With love from the South China Sea,
Elayna, Riley, Lenny & Darwin (& Crew .. Kai, Carine & Ellie!)
PS: Let us know in the comments below what you'd love to see us experience once we hit the shores of Japan!

Yahoo! I donāt care what you post, Iāve never been there and am happy to experience Japan through your adventures! Have a blast!!!
I believe Riles nailed the water consumption use of small children.
Yes good one, also I look forward to the Japan episodes
Another great movie glad you made it to Japan hope you got to stay.šāµļø
Love you guys. Donāt like the new boat but love you all.
Great video guys. I'm so grateful you showed that little clip at the end of the next episode showing that you had safely arrived. That typhoon looked gnarly on the weather map!
Elayna, you're getting so good carrying the camera, it acts like a steady cam!
A quick google check had Japan typhoon season from May to September with peak season in August and September so Riley WTF were you thinking heading north when you should have been heading south ! I hope you don't get destroyed by the two typhoons so far. You've risked it all mate.
i really loved the video. there is something about bluewater passages
āHumoudousā along with the āspiny dialā and youāproposed to Ryleyāwell the gods of the sea agree on it, parents agree on it and you bow before heaven and earth. How the younger woman should always make the first move. So you got this right.š¤£š¦šŗ Check out the legend In Maori and Polynesian mythology, āTangaroa is the god of the oceanā. Tangaroa made laws to protect the ocean and its sea creatures āTiaki mai i ahau, maku ano koe e tiaki⦠If you look after me, then I will look after youā¦ā One of our co-founders was a New Zealander with close family connections to a Maori Kaumatua (elder). We consulted him and his whanau (family) and a Maori artist in Wellington about why we wished to call this organisation Tangaroa Blue. Great to see the kids so happy š This revolved around the groupās strong connection with the marine environment and the need to promote a philosophy explaining that humans canāt keep taking from our ocean environment without giving back just as much. This is our way to give back! We received their blessing to use the name, which is applied with the utmost respect and the understanding that all our oceans are connected.
Sensational sailing. One thing though. "cheese" that melts like what you showed on the table while in the marina is absolutely not cheese That stuff is manufactured crap and should be thrown away and real cheese bought
You guys are nuts. Nice nuts, but nuts just the same. Itās ok, Iāll pray for you and everything will be ok. I got caught in a typhoon off the mouth of the Yellow River one time. We managed to find some shelter and spent a number of uncomfortable hours with both anchors out and the engines running fool ahead. Itās the things that you have no control over that that do you in God bless, Ronnie
So excited for you!! Whatās crazy is I donāt think Japan is a ācruisersā countryā¦it seems that the main form of sea going is on the many ferry routes all around the country and to Korea, and itās really to transport cars and goods. I donāt know of any recreational sailing ports in Japan and Iām not aware of any famous Japanese sailboat racers. Please show us how they treat you coming to their shores.
