Poppy and Spencer first met during a snow season in Japan (Mt. Komorebi) and kept in touch while living on opposite sides of the world. A year later they reunited on the same slopes and their friendship quickly became something more. When Poppy discovered she was pregnant, they made the decision to move to the place they fell in love and raise their child in the snowy mountains. They built their home, a beautiful A-frame cabin in a large clearing by the slopes. Spencer now works as a snowboard instructor while Poppy stays home with their daughter, Gia.
