15 Years Later… Fai Finally Chooses Kaphrao | 4 Elements: The Fire EP 7
After their confrontation with Aunt Pranee, Fai and Kaphrao find some much-needed support in Din and Rose—but their peace doesn't last long. A painful phone call from Pranee leaves Kaphrao believing that Fai hates her, reopening the wounds and misunderstandings that have followed them since childhood.
After several hilariously unsuccessful attempts to say what she really feels, Fai finally finds the courage to confess her love. She also reveals the truth about what happened fifteen years ago and the events that caused their childhood separation, finally allowing both women to understand just how much of their shared past had been shaped by misunderstanding and interference. With the truth finally out, Fai and Kaphrao clear the air, admit their feelings, and officially become a couple.
But keeping their new relationship quiet proves impossible. When they return home and Aunt Pranee confronts Kaphrao, Fai refuses to hide or allow Kaphrao to face her family alone. Stepping in front of the woman she loves, Fai publicly declares, “I love Nong Phrao... I've loved her for a very long time.” The confession leaves Pranee so stunned that she faints—but more importantly, it marks a turning point for Fai. After years of anger, fear, and family pressure, she is finally ready to stand on her own and openly choose Kaphrao.

Episode 7 starts with Fai and Kaphrao reaching Chiang Rai’s farm of Din and Rose where they are surprised but happy to receive them as guests. Din wants Fai to call next time beforehand, but Fai claims this was a ‘spur of the moment’ decision and they didn’t even bring clothes along, but Din and Rose are happy to lend them clothes from their own. Then, Din goes to talk to Fai, while Rose takes Kaphrao to a big room… …, where both Fai and Kaphrao can sleep, she asks whether they can share a room, and Kaphrao confirms it. She asks her what happened, and Kaphrao claims it was just some sort of family conflict. Rose asks Kaphrao if she was to tell her about it, and claims she’s always there to listen… …while Fai has already told Din all the story, she closes by reporting that they shouldn’t go home now because she doesn’t want to make it worse, and claims she came to Din and Rose to catch her breath first, with Din admitting that staying there would only add fuel to the fire, and Fai admitting that Panee is probably pretty mad at her right now, with Din thinking the same as she protected Kaphrao against her like that and asking whether this is the first fight that Fai had with Kaphrao, and Fai confirming it by nodding. Din then asks the billion Baht question: has Fai now realized that she likes Kaphrao? And Fai tells it straight: she likes Kaphrao. Din tells her to never let her go again if she’s the one. Fai calls Akanee to tell him where they are while having lunch with Kaphrao, and tells him to take care of Panee for her. Kaphrao is a bit worried about Panee, but she then gets a call from a number she doesn’t know – but Fai does because it’s Panee. She tells her to let her do the talking, but Kaphrao thinks that would only make her more furious. Then, Fai wants to out her on speaker so she can help in case that there’s anything. Kaphrao puts her on speaker as she picks up the call, and Panee cries that she is abducting Fai and wants to know where they went, and what lies she is telling her to make her hate her. She calls her a scumbag and accuses her of going after Fai because she couldn’t seduce Akanee as Fai interjects, and tells her aunt that is enough. Panee is momentarily startled but soon asks what lies Kaphrao told her, and tells her not to listen to her as she knows how much she loves Fai. Fai knows and she tells her she loves her as well. Panee claims that if she loves her aunt, she should stay away from Kaphrao, and asks her if she also hates her. She claims everything she did, she did for her, and reminds her that she was the one who told her to find a way to get rid of her, why is she mad at Panee now? She claims that Kaphrao is nasty and Fai’s no match for her, and tells her to get away from that filthy rat as fast as she can. This is when Kaphrao ends the call and storms off, with Fai unable to defend herself before it, as Kaphrao has had 15 years to come to terms with how much Fai hates Kaphrao, she claims, and now she claims to hate Fai a lot as well. She goes inside and closes the drapes as Fai tries to explain herself in vain. Then, she starts to cry. They cope separately as Becky’s song “Don’t you love me” plays in the background, with both of them crying. At night, Fai talks to Din again arguing that now, Kaphrao hates her and not knowing why Panee said that. Din claims Panee probably knew she put her on speaker, and said it on purpose so Kaphrao would hear it to drive a wedge between the two of them. Fai wants to rush to tell Kaphrao about this, but Din holds her back and tells her to give her some time, and claims she would only make things worse if she did it now, and wait until the next day. The next morning, Din and Fai sit at breakfast as Rose comes over to report that Kaphrao refuses to come out of her room, claiming she isn’t hungry, and saying that she has a headache and isn’t feeling well. Fai wants to rush to her again, but Din and Rose tell her to calm down. Din tells her to give Kaphrao some more time as she is still upset, and claims she has to eat somehow and will come out in due time. She can try making up to her then, she claims. But Fai admits that she has never done anything like this before, and asks Din for help, arguing that she was an expert when she tried to make Boss Rose forgive her. Rose also asks her to help Fai, so that she can explain everything – and confess to her. Din thinks they have to create a romantic vibe for a love confession… …and they create a dinner for Kaphrao in the evening, with Rose bringing Kaphrao to the table. After an awkward minute of them not saying anything, and Kaphrao avoiding eye contact, Din opens the dinner, and they all dig in. After some more silence, Rose asks Kaphrao about the food which she finds amazing, but claims she doesn’t have much appetite that day. Din then proposes to play charades after dinner, and Rose pleads with Kaphrao to participate because she is fed up with playing with Din alone. Kaphrao eventually accepts… …and plays in a team with Fai as they are both trying to guess what Din and Rose are performing and performing themselves. Kaphrao loosens up quite a bit – until Fai drags her close to her and hugs her. Kaphrao is startled again, claims to have a headache and excuses herself, with Din and Rose consoling Fai after Kaphrao leaves. In the morning, Kaphrao takes pictures of the view at the farm as Rose nudges Fai to talk to her claiming that Kaphrao is in a good mood. Eventually, Fai gathers her courage and goes out to talk to Kaphrao, who doesn’t want to talk to her, but tells her to get it over with anyway. Fai stutters a bit, but the Kaphrao tells her that she will go to work in Bangkok when they return, because she doesn’t want to cause more trouble for Fai’s family. Fai claims that she won’t let her, but Kaphrao is not asking for permission and claims that she is only letting her know. Fai says she can explain about what Panee said and claims to honestly not hate her at all. Kaphrao wants to know how is she feeling about her, but Fai can’t get it out before Kaphrao claims she doesn't want to hear it anymore. She tells her not to follow her and goes away. Afterwards, Din and Rose come over, and Rose claims she’s terrible at this, and if that’s the best she can do, she shouldn’t call her ‘boss’ anymore. Din adds that she’s a great humiliation to the Watinwanich family. Rose wants to know why she can’t speak her mind like when she insulted Kaphrao? But Fai is afraid that she would hate her even more if she says it, with Rose arguing that she has nothing to lose because Kaphrao hates her already, and claiming that if it were her, she would just say it because she doesn’t want to regret it later. Fai wants to know how she should confess, claiming she has never done it before. And Rose takes her arm around Fai and tells her to leave that to the boss. Rose takes Kaphrao to a bench inside the river for drinks and Kaphrao finds it so mice and calm there. Rose reports that Din and her are planning to build a resort in Chiang Rai and came there to get some ideas. Kaphrao wants to get invited once it’s done, and Rose will not forget to invite her as she will become part of their family soon. Kaphrao thinks she is joking and Rose admits it, but claims she will definitely invite her. Then, gets called away by Din under some pretext. She claims to be back soon and leaves. Moments thereafter, Fai comes up, and Kaphrao wants to leave, but Fai admits that she used to say what Panee reported, but claims it was long ago, and she doesn’t hate her now. She apologizes for everything she has done and claims she was wrong. Kaphrao tells her it’s all in the past and wants to leave again, but Fai presents her a bouquet – of basil (Kaphrao) – as an apology. Kaphrao laughs as Fai explains she made it herself and claims she has never done this for anyone. Kaphrao accepts the bouquet claiming she just doesn’t want it to go to waste, and apologizes for saying that she hates her earlier. She wants her to thank Rose for setting this up, and admits that she knew about it. Fai then wants to know about her P’Jah, claiming she won’t back down. But Kaphrao doesn’t want to talk about that. And Fai finally tells her straight out that she likes her, she has liked her for a long time. She claims that Kaphrao doesn’t have to answer right now, she can wait. Kaphrao doesn’t react at all. Later, Fai lies on a couch outside, hemming and hawing about whether Kaphrao likes her or not (clearly showing she can’t wait… 🤦), as Kaphrao is sitting in an empty bathtub still carrying the bouquet and coming to terms with what she heard from Fai and smiling. She walks around and finds Fai sitting somewhere who asks if she can’t sleep. Kaphrao admits it, then asks her the same, which Fai also confirms. Kaphrao wants to go, but Fai wants her to stay and talk to her first. Kaphrao is quick to deny that she is mad at Fai for telling her that she lies her, tells her she doesn’t hate her, and asks her if she wants her to hate her, but Fai is just afraid she might hate her for telling her how she feels. Kaphrao asks her if she is sure about it, and Fai confirms it right away. Kaphrao then argues that they never had any good time together, they have always been fighting, so, how could she possibly like her? But Fai admits that she likes every moment she spends with her, and proposes to go to the mountain together to create their own happy moments. Kaphrao isn’t sure if Din and Rose will be free, though, but Fai claims it can be just the two of them and calls it a date. She claims she won’t go if it’s with Din and Rose, and Kaphrao asks her if she wants to go with her. Fai gathers all her courage and claims of course, she wants it – so much. And this time, both Kaphrao and Fai are smiling separately. At breakfast, Fai is pouring some water for Kaphrao, with Din pointing out her special attention. Rose asks Kaphrao how it was the day before at the creek, and Kaphrao reports shyly that it was fine, good. Fai wants Rose to stop teasing Kaphrao, but Din continues by asking Fai about the night, was it good, and now it is Fai who reacts shyly as she claims it was surely great. Rose wants to know if Fai has anything to share with her sisters, and Fai claims there’s nothing at all, and wants to talk about their planned mountain trip, but Din claims she already packed a tent for them, and Rose marvels to Kaphrao about the view from the mountain, and tells her to enjoy her time there, proposing stargazing at night and waking up to the sea of fog in the morning arguing that it will be romantic and calling it the perfect place for a date. But Kaphrao claims this isn’t a date and says they are will just hang out there, and Fai confirms it that they will just hang out and look around. Din teases Fai about looking around for love 😉, and Fai claims they are just going camping. Rose teases them that the weather up there is quite cold, so they might want to sleep in each other’s arms. But Fai quickly tries to change the subject. Fai is thinking solemnly as Din arrives, about what she has to face once she returns home. Din tells her to relay and recharge herself before thinking about that so that she can fight the problem later. Fai wants to know if Din really believes she could fix it, but Din claims there is always a solution to every problem, and tells her to never let go of each other’s hand. Fai still doesn’t know if Kaphrao even wants to hold her hand and claims she has never said she likes her. But Din claims that for as long as she can remember, Fai has never given up on anything so easily, and tells her to be patient when it comes to love. Fai argues that if she was kind like Din, calm like Nam or sweet like Lom, maybe Kaphrao would like her more, but Din tells her she doesn’t need to try to be like anyone, she just needs to be a better version of herself, and Kaphrao will like her as she is, she claims. She takes her in her arm and tells her she’s so down bad for her and acting like a lovesick fool. On the mountain, Fai puts up the tent, but Kaphrao asks where the other tent is. Fai only brought one tent which is big enough for two people, she claims, asks her if she’s scared and gets close to her as she promises she isn’t going to do anything to her, and argues she just wants to hang out with her, not do “that kind of thing” to her. Kaphrao tells her that she’ll be dead if she tries it, and Fai teases her that she’s oh so scared, but Kaphrao smiles at the teasing. Then, they eventually put up a folding couch together, sit on it and enjoy the view, before eating noodles together, before Kaphrao is asking Fai whether they will see stars that night as Rose promised, and Fai claims it doesn’t matter as they can come back anytime. Fai asks her to call her ‘Phi’ like when they were young, as she will call herself ‘Phi’ when she talks to her, not wanting them to sound so distant. If she can’t be her lover, at least she can be her sister, she claims. Kaphrao finds this so weird and suspects she is someone else in disguise, bat Fai claims she is trying to be a better person, and asks her wouldn’t be nice if she was as good as Din, Nam or Lom, arguing that when she was young she was always compared to them and never made her father proud. So, she doesn’t know if she see anything good in her or even likes he at all. But Kaphrao argues that if you like someone, it isn’t because they remind you of someone else, you like them as who they are. Fai asks her if she likes her. Kaphrao doesn’t reply immediately, and Fai wants to leave, but Kaphrao wants her to stay and explains that she was still thinking, she wants to ask her one thing before replying: did she do it 15 years ago, because she wanted her to disappear from her life forever. And we get a flashback of the two of the as kids where Kaphrao wanted to get a plushie for becoming first in her grade, with Fai thinking that there was no way she would get first place. But she got praised by Akanee for her results (while Akanee ignored Fai’s results) and even invited to get a chocolate. Fai later got a gift from Panee and selected the same plushie that Kaphrao wanted, obviously intending to give it to her. That’s why she used the truck as a means of having enough time to pick up the plushie for her. But the truck drove away before she could get the plushie from home and she cried back then. Kaphrao learns that Fai never wanted her to disappear from her life, Fai apologizes for it and claims if she could turn back time, she would have never done that to her. But Kaphrao claims that just knowing that she doesn’t hate her is more than enough for her. Fai looks away as she repeats that she likes her, and Kaphrao teases her that she should look at her when she says that. Fai accuses her of teasing her, but Kaphrao claims it’s her turn now, and hugs her. She calls her P’Jah, but Fai misinterprets that as her talking about someone else while hugging her. But she calls her P’Jah again as she tells her so stop being silly. She asks her if P’Jah is her, and of course it is, Kaphrao claims. Then, the penny drop as Fai asks her if she’s always liked her. And Kaphrao confirms it, but if the doesn’t get it, doesn’t want to say it again. Fai yells out that P’Jah is the luckiest girl in the world, before she hugs Kaphrao, who tells her it took her long enough. At night, they lay next to each other in the tent, and Fai can’t stop staring at Kaphrao, with Kaphrao complaining that the can’t sleep while she keeps staring at her. Fai is afraid that she might be gone if she closes her eyes, but Kaphrao claims she right next to her and argues where would she go? She finally shares a blanket with her, but Kaphrao claims it’s not better – because there is too much distance between them. Fai moves right next to her and Kaphrao grabs her back with her hand and calls it so warm, and asks her if she finds it annoying. And Fai admits that she did where they were young, but not anymore. Kaphrao realizes that Fai knew it when she secretly snuggled close to her… …and we get another flashback of them sharing the bed as kids, with Kaphrao moving close to her, and we see that Fai realized she was getting close, but liked it even back then. The grown-up Fai confesses to Kaphrao that she has known it all along, and claims she doesn’t need to do it secretly anymore, for she has her permission now. Kaphrao asks if she shy and Fai admits it before telling her to sleep, or she will throw her out of the tent. Kaphrao tells her to try it if she dares, but Fai immediately folds. Kaphrao claims she won this time, and Fai admits that she always wins, she just never let her know before. She takes her hand as she vows she won’t ever let anyone hurt her again, claiming Panee will probably do anything to break them up, but she will never let go of her hand. She promises to protect her as best as she can. Kaphrao promises that no matter what happens, she will also never let go of her hand either. They kiss each other’s hand, Fai kisses the forehead and nose, before they kiss each other for the first time after as we pass the one-hour mark, before they fall asleep in each other’s arms. Sometime later, they return to Surat Thani and Fai parks in form of the main house and wakes Kaphrao up gently. Kaphrao wants to know why she didn’t drop her off at the worker’s cabin, but Fai wants to talk to Akanee first, and introduce her girlfriend to him. Kaphrao thinks it’s too soon, but Fai argues that it’s the proper way to do it as Akanee is also her guardian. She reminds her of her vow to never let Akanee take her in as another daughter, she would only allow her to become his daughter-in-law. Eventually, they stand in front of Akanee holding hands, and Fai just blurts out that they are together now. Akanee takes a while, but argues that it’s good and he is happy for her. Fai is surprised that he is not going to scold her for being a bad girl, she fears that he thinks she doesn’t deserve to be with her. But Akanee claims that while he might not be a gently parent to her, but he has always been proud of her and loved her. And he always loved Kaphrao as if she were his own daughter. But Fai claims she is no longer his daughter, she is her daughter-in-law. Akanee smiley but Kaphrao argues that she hasn’t agreed to it yet, and asks her ‘uncle’ to disregard her silly antics. But Akanee wants to be called ‘dad’ from now on. Kaphrao eventually calls him that, but wants to remain at the worker’s lodge like before, because she doesn’t want to cause any trouble with Panee. Fai promises to look after her, and Akanee understands the logic behind it, claiming Panee would cause another ruckus. But Fai claims she has to tell her somehow, she’s been avoiding this for too long, but will not run anymore. She promises to protect Kaphrao and always be by her side. Akanee supports and stands by them both. Fai returns to Panee’s home who greets her by claiming Fai already forget she was still there, and gives her the order to stay away from Kaphrao. Fai doesn’t get it and wants to know why she hates her so much. Panee claims it’s because she is trying to seduce her, she playing with her heart, and Fai is too naïve to see it. But Fai clams she’s all grown up now and she can tell what’s what, which Panee considers as talking back to her, and thinks she’s become arrogant since she been with that girl. She wants to tell her that they’re together, but Panee stop her and tells her that if she chooses Panee, then there is no Kaphrao. The next morning, she waits for Kaphrao to come out of her home and has brought her breakfast. Bua notices them and thinks that they are so sweet that it is giving her diabetes just by looking. Fai tells her to hurry up for work, as Bua argues that Kaphrao used to be Akanee’s adopted daughter, but now she his daughter-in-law. But Kaphrao tells her to keep quiet about this, and Bua says goodbye telling the two of them to enjoy. Fai keeps staring at Kaphrao as she’s eating breakfast, but she claims she’s just admiring her girlfriend, as she claims to be sorry for not finding a chance yet to tell Panee about them. But Kaphrao wants to talk to her about that too, she wants them to not tell other people about them yet, claiming she doesn’t want any more trouble, especially from Panee. She pleads with her to give her some time, and Fai eventually accepts it. But she also wants Fai to act like before towards her when in public, like when they could hardly stand each other. Fai reluctantly also agrees to that, but only when they are in front of other people. At the office, Kaphrao’s colleague treats her like before as she drowns her with work, claiming she was supposed to do it while she was awake, and instructing her to finish that before the day is out, so other people won’t have to wait for her. Fai comes in and thought there was more to do, and yells at Kaphrao to quit slacking and work faster, but gives her an air kiss and winks at her, before asking her colleague who told her to dump everything on Kaphrao. She thought she wanted to help her lighten the workload. Fai tells everyone at the office that they need her approval before assigning work to her assistant from now on, and then tells Kaphrao to be responsible for her mistakes and come to her office right now. The colleagues gossip about Kaphrao being scolded as she leaves… …but Kaphrao gets hugged by Fai as she enters her office, offering to reduce the pay of the colleague who dumped all the work onto her, but Kaphrao asks who she thinks told her to bully her in the first place. And Fai scolds herself for being a bad girl, as Kaphrao claims she was so scary back there. Fai invites her to have dinner with father this evening, which surprises Kaphrao because she thought she would have dinner with Panee, but Fai claims to stay at the main house for now, because Panee hasn’t been welcoming as of late. Kaphrao is sorry to have cased her trouble, but Fia silence her and claims it’s not her fault at all and she can handle it. All she needs is for her to be always by her side. But she’s feeling drained right now and asks her to cheer her up a bit. Kaphrao tells her she can do it, but Fai expected another kind of cheering, kisses her on the cheek, then asks her if she’s embarrassed. But Kaphrao return the kisses – just as the colleague comes in, who claims she didn’t see them kissing, then swearing she won’t tell anyone before leaving again. (Well, that pretending lasted for about five minutes… 😉 ) Later, they return to the worker’s cabin, and Kaphrao is still mad at Fai for failing to keep up the pretense. She wants to quit, and Fai jokes that it’s okay, she can take care of her. Kaphrao get even madder thinking about what if Panee hears this – just as Panee reveals to have waited for them. She calls her a nasty bitch and wants to slap her, but Fai gets in the way to get slapped in her stead. She tells her to get out of the way, but Fai struggles to keep Panee away from Kaphrao. She asks Kaphrao how does she dare to seduce Fai even at work (revealing that the colleague told on them), but Fai claims that no one is doing that, and reveals she doesn’t hate Kaphrao like Panee always wanted her to – she loves her, she has loved her all along. Panee collapses as she’s hearing this, and while Kaphrao tries to get an ambulance, this ultra-long episode ends. ___ We’ve come a long way in episode 7 (which took me almost six hours to recap 😊), as both Kaphrao and Fai took time to confess their feelings to each other, to kiss and came out to Fai’s father. Now, there’s only the final boss left – Panee, who will survive this episode, I’m sure. But learning to let her niece live will take time, as it will take time for Fai to cope with her collapse, I’m sure. So we’re in for another long episode next week; I liked this episode, because it took its due time for Fai to come around and get Kaphrao to learn that she likes her just as much as Kaphrao did all along, and left all the secondary stories back in Surat Thani until they were together.
