Episode Eight: God is a Coward!
Rise up and remember! We return to the pre-history of Genesis, this time with the story of humanity’s first city and first king. The same faction from Episode Three that stormed the gates of Eden returns, joined by more action from the black-winged Cherubim and their all-space swords!
This episode easily took me the longest to finish, in no small part because I rewrote and redrew it twice. Stay tuned for the behind-the-scenes, where I’ll share my deep dive into Sumerian cuneiform and theoretical physics equations (both of which I’ve tried to render as accurately as possible, though if anyone out there knows better, I’d love to hear it). I’ll also walk through my quest to uncover the “real” shape of Noah’s ark.
For those that like to find the connections to other stories, this episode contains the third appearance of a dread-wise tower, which will finally be explained fully in Episode Ten!
Just a disclaimer: this isn’t meant to be a theological statement. These are the beliefs of fictional characters in a fictional story with rocket ships and magic swords. My only authorial goal is to create something kind of cool that also has the chance to make people, even if only for the briefest second, contemplate their own humanity and what it means.
Thank you, as always, for building these stories with me!
