[Commissioned Work] Bad Status Dragon Rider: Little Gale's Fox Reconnaissance

In Niim Town Adventurer’s Guild, a green-winged dragon girl pouted in her room. Every few seconds, she turned her gaze to the wall behind her bed, but immediately afterwards, she nervously glanced away. It was a strange sight to see the normally happy-go-lucky dragon girl so anxious. The tiny, chronically shrunken man on her bed, Dragon Rider Alain, had to ask.

“What’s the problem, Gale?”

“Mmm…” Gale puffed up her cheeks and continued to pout, but she eventually relented to the Dragon Rider’s patience. “Awoo… Master, how do I make up with Miss Vio? I think I made her mad…”

“Mad? Her?” Alain was surprised to hear that Gale somehow managed to do something that could bother their very easy-going fox beastkin party member. “How’d you do that, Gale?”

“Awoo… I don’t know…” Gale frowned. “For some reason, ever since we got back from the Elf Village, Miss Vio’s been avoiding me.”

“Avoiding you? That doesn’t sound like her. You sure this isn’t some misunderstanding? She’s normally really easy-going.”

“Yeah…” Gale twiddled her thumbs. “I don’t know what I did wrong, awoo. I feel like she’s avoiding me. I tried to talk to her today too, but she said that she needed to talk to Miss Iora and ran off. She locked the door to her room too, so I can’t just go in and talk to her. Guild Master Bryn will be mad if I force it open and break the door too, but I really want to know what I did wrong.”

That behavior sounded strange to Alain, but he was certain that Gale was misunderstanding things.

“I don’t think she’s mad. I think if you just patiently wai-” Alain started to speak, but was cut off by a scantily clad red woman who was the same size as the tiny man. It was Est. Well, it wasn’t the actual demon succubus but a proxy dummy created by her that perfectly mimicked her appearance.

“If you can’t enter her room through the door normally, why not just sneak through the cracks?” The red-skinned demon floated behind Alain and rested her breasts on top of his head.

“Awoo? Sneak in? Through the cracks?” Gale repeated.

“You’ve still got some of your powers from that Elder Dragon incident, right? It shouldn’t be that difficult for you to sneak in and find out what she’s doing and thinking.”

Alain did not like his ally’s suggestion. “Est, that idea sounds so unnecessa-”

Before the dragon rider could finish his sentence, Gale shouted. “That’s a great idea, Miss Est! Awoo! I did get taught to change my size to stop being humongous like an Elder Dragon. I can definitely shrink smaller to do that! I’m going to go find out why Miss Vio’s been acting so weird, awoo!”

With the thought in her head, the energetic Emerald Dragon jumped off the bed and dashed out into the hallway, leaving the tiny dragon rider and the demon alone on Gale’s bedsheets.

“Est, just because you’re bored doesn’t mean you should mess with Gale.”

“I’m not messing with her. It’s just my honest opinion that if you think someone’s mad at you, you have every right to find out the reason why,” the demon’s tail whipped about happily. She wasn’t lying, but she was definitely being mischievous.

A tiny red orb next to Alain suddenly grew into a blue colored girl - a slime girl. “... Nim agrees with Alain… Est is just bored…”

“Well, I never said I wasn’t,” she chuckled. “Actually, I know what’s got Vio’s panties in a knot. Trust me, you two. Getting those two girls together in the room next door is important for our party’s morale.”

What was it that Est knew? She was not going to tell Alain or Nim. But Gale was going to find out. Outside in the hallway, the dragon girl psyched herself up while standing in front of Vio’s locked room.

“Awoo. Ok. I can do this. Let’s see… Um… I need to focus my dragon mana like this and…”

Wooowoooowooowoooowooo…

As Gale focused her draconic mana, the world around her seemed to distort. When it came to changing one’s size, there were numerous ways to do so. Shrinking from Mini was the most common ‘bad status’ that she and her Master were used to, but they had experienced powerful curses, shrinking blessings from Faeries, and even alchemic creations that could make it also happen.

A normal dragon girl like Gale normally wouldn’t have a size changing power, but due to incidents involving Elder Dragons and gigantic sizes, she had started training to get used to this power. Still, Gale’s mana control was not exactly the best.

“Awoo? A-ah. Did I make myself too small?” She had wanted to shrink herself down to crawl under the door crack, but the size she had shrunk herself to - half of a dwarven inch, was small enough that she could walk under the door crack without even tilting her head.

Despite this mistake, Gale continued on and snuck into Vio’s room without correcting her size. Before coming to Dragon Gate, she had through countless ‘Bad Status Incidents’ with her Master - all of them involving being shrunken with ‘Mini’. Being small was nothing new to her.

“It’s been a while since the last time I was tiny, though, awoo. These days, it’s only been Master who’s been getting shrunken,” Gale talked to herself as she looked around. From the ground, she could not see the entirety of Vio’s room. The ceiling was distant and the furniture was taller than the tall mountains north of town.

“Awoo… Where’s Miss Vio?” Gale asked while glancing around the room. It was odd - Vio was the only person staying in the room, but the fox beastkin was nowhere in sight.

Wham… Wham!

Just because Gale didn’t see her did not mean that Vio was not around, though. The ninja beastkin’s footsteps could easily be felt as the wooden floor seemed to shake from the weight of Vio’s presence.

WHAAAAAM!

“Uwah?!” Gale was blown forward and tumbled when a damp foot landed mere centimeters away from her.

“Phew. That was a refreshing wash. The guild’s not as luxurious as an inn, but I’m glad they had everything needed for tail care. Miss Iora’s the reason why most likely,” Vio’s voice boomed from up above like roaring thunder.

“Awowawa?!” Gale stared up at the towering fox woman that was her party member. Since she was only ½ a dwarven inch tall, Vio looked to be over 100 times bigger than her. The beastkin’s toe alone was bigger than her original dragon form. Gale couldn’t help but blush either. After all, Vio was proudly galavanting around in only a pair of pink panties and a towel on shoulders. “M-Miss Vio?”

Rumble…

Gale did not have the time to remain flustered though. Despite her enormous size, Vio’s body did not move slowly. She was an agility-focused class after all. In a single step, Vio’s foot cleared the distance to where Gale had been blown. Her foot blocked the lamp light and covered the shrunken dragon girl in its shadow.

“Wah-” Gale started to move, but she was not quick enough nor big enough to escape out of the expansive area that Vio’s foot covered.

Slaaaaaam!

Vio’s foot slammed down on the tiny dragon girl. The tons of weight that the fox girl seemed to weigh pressed down on Gale and flattened her into the floor.

“Mgff?!” Was she completely crushed? No. She was still alive. Even her Master had gone through worse fighting gigantic monster girls. She was a dragon too so she was naturally more sturdy than him.

Still, a single step was not all the unaware Vio had in store for Gale.

“Awoowawa! Eh?” Gale found herself rising up into the air despite not using her wings. “I-I’m stuck?”

Despite still being damp from washing herself, the beastkin woman did have to walk from the bathing area back to her room. She had actually used her shinobi stealth to sneak her way back to not be spotted mostly naked, but in doing so, her body had been sweating just a little. Considering Gale’s miniscule size, even that amount of sweat was enough to adhere her body to the fox girl’s right sole. And that meant…

Slaaaaaam!

“Mgaah!”

Slaaaaaam!

“Awowawa!”

Slaaaaaam!

“Mggfk?! M-Miss Vio!”

It meant that Gale was stomped for every step that Vio took to reach her bed and hop onto it.

“Hup!” the fox girl grunted as her butt hit the mattress. A pleasure filled shiver went up her spine as her butt landed on the soft sheets. Her tail swung left and right excitedly while her feet swung in the air forwards and backwards in contract. “Ah, that feels good.”

“... Mghh… Salty… Awoo…” Gale, as a dragon used to flying, was not nauseous from the constant pendulum-like swaying of the foot she was stuck to. However, she was not happy with the taste of Vio’s sweat that had entered her mouth each time she had a faceful of fox foot from Vio’s steps. The liquid had a coarse and gritty texture accompanying it too because of the dust and dirt Vio had picked up along the way to her room.

Despite Gale’s complaints though, she was a little happy to see that Vio was in a good mood.

“Awoo… Is Miss Vio not mad anymore?” she asked herself. “Mmm? A-Ah!”

Gale felt the adhesive surrounding her weaken as it evaporated away. Her body was released from her comrade’s sweaty sole. Using her wings, she slowed her fall to the floor and landed on the soft black carpet below.

“Phew… That was clo…”

Whoooosh!

Gale’s relief was interrupted by a gust of wind strong enough to force her to put her arm out to guard against. The window wasn’t open. It was just Vio’s movements. When the fox beastkin over 100 times her size moved to grab put on her clothes, the air displaced by her quick and fluid movements was as strong as a Wind Elemental magical spell.

This was just a fraction of the power the much bigger shinobi fox had with their size difference, because the wind that had forced Gale on guard was not caused by her full body’s movements. It was simply the act of her slipping on her left stocking.

“Hm…” the fox girl pondered something while pulling her stocking up her thigh. She scrunched her toes after she put her sock on all the way. “Maybe I should ask Miss Iora for a laundry service I want to look presentable for tonight. I haven’t washed these clothes for a while. It might have been since I’ve been adventuring together in the party actually.”

Gale could tell. The smell of Vio’s old sweat in her dirty sock mixed with the new sweat and whatever soap she had used. It wafted down and forced the dragon girl to plug up her super sensitive nose. “Mgrk… W-why does Miss Vio want to look nice for tonight, awoo?”

“Well, it’s fine. Tonight’s the night I show Miss Gale.”

“... Show me…?” Gale repeated Vio’s statement. It didn’t sound like Vio was mad at her. “Was Miss Vio avoiding me to prepare something for me, awoo?”

A wave of relief spread through the green dragon girl’s heart. Vio wasn’t avoiding her. Her Master was right that she had been misunderstanding Vio’s actions. However, now that she knew this, Gale became a ball of curiosity. She wanted to know more.

“What does Miss Vio want to show m- Awoo?”

Before Gale could finish her sentence, she saw Vio’s palm fill the sky. She was reaching down towards her. Had she seen her? No. Vio wasn’t looking at her. But there wasn’t anything else to grab nearby… right?

Not quite.

“Uwah!” Gale felt the ground shift and tilt. The black carpet she had fallen onto wasn’t actually a carpet. It was Vio’s other stocking. The fox girl had only put on one of her thigh-highs, so OF COURSE she was going to put on the other one.

Gale tried to keep herself steady and instinctively got onto all fours to grab onto the ground so she wouldn’t fall over, but this was a mistake on her part. The floor she grabbed onto was lifted up into the air as Vio grabbed her sock.

“Awowawa~!?” As much as she tried, the immense acceleration of the sock swinging around was too much for Gale’s half inch tall body. The moment Vio pulled the sock onto her bare leg, the dragon girl was flung off the black stocking and tumbled across the air. Although Gale tried to correct her flight, she had been flicked off the sock so quickly that she couldn’t see anything other than a blur of colors from the world spinning around her…

Until it suddenly became black.

“Ugyah!” Gale landed on a softer surface than the wooden floor she had been expecting to hit. “Ouchies… H-Huh? Where is this, awoo?”

Looking around, Gale continued to see nothing but darkness. Wasn’t she just in Vio’s enormous room? Where could she have landed that was incredibly dark?

“Mgh… Cough! W-What’s this smell? I-It’s so strong, awoo!” The dragon girl coughed and tried to cover her nose. The air surrounding her was humid and smelled musty. Just where was she? Some sort of cave? As Gale looked around, the dragon girl found that there was one area where there was light that seemed to be coming down from above. The shape of the cave that Gale was in suddenly clicked in her mind. “Wait, am I in…?”

Rumble!

“A-Awoo?” the ground began to shake as the world around Gale began to move. The 0.5” tall dragon girl was knocked off her feet and tumbled towards the lone circle of light in the cave. Looking up, she saw a humongous black object approach and start to block out the light. “This is Miss Vio’s boot! Awowawawawa! I’ve got to get away!”

But where was there to get away while she was inside her friend’s boot? Vio was already putting it on. Her socked foot now completely blocked off the only exit. Even so, Gale tried to move as quickly as she could away from Vio’s approaching foot.

Of course, there was no escape. As much as Gale would have liked to outspeed Vio, the shinobi fox was faster than she was normally. Now, with the size difference between them, there was no contest. Gale had only started her sprint when Vio’s foot completely entered her boot and pressed her tiny body into the insole.

“Mgfffk!” the dragon girl grunted as she was smothered beneath Vio’s foot and shoved further into the boot’s insole. Her wings could feel the dampness of the sweat-soaked insole and her face could feel the dampness of the fox beastkin’s sock. The smell of sweat was even more overpowering now that she was in direct contact with Vio’s socked foot. Her body was weakening and it was getting difficult to try and resist the weight of Vio’s foot. “A-Awoo… I-I’m getting dizzy… My nose… It stings…”

Unfortunately for Gale, this was only the beginning. After all, when someone puts on their boots, they would not simply sit in place. They move.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaam!

“Mgfff!” Gale felt the mountainous weight of Vio’s sole press down on her body as the fox beastkin took her first step off the bed. And then, immediately after, she felt her entire body rise up into the air while still being sandwiched between a socked foot and insole.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaam!

“Mgfffk!” Again, the weight of Vio’s foot came down on her again. The second step rubbed the worn fibers of Vio’s sock into Gale’s body. She could taste it, and she did not like the salty and musty taste in the slightest. The taste of Vio’s feet was completely different from the snacks and meals she always had with her Master.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaam! Whaaaaaaaaaaaam! Whaaaaaaaaaaaam!

Where was Vio going? Gale did not know. She was more preoccupied with simply enduring the constant footfalls. Trapped inside Vio’s boot, she would’ve thought that the perceptive Vio would have felt her, but maybe a half an inch tall dragon girl was too small for the ninja fox to feel. The difference between their two sizes was so much that any of her strikes and attacks wouldn’t even be considered a battle.

But despite knowing this from her experience adventuring with Alain, Gale was a dragon of instinct and reckless courage. She tried anyway, attempting to attack with a Claw Assault or even a Tail Slam… only to find that her arms, legs, wings, and tail were all unable to move due to the intense pressure caused by the weight of Vio’s foot pressing her into the fox’s insole. Her body was starting to leave an impression on both the insole and Vio’s sock.

“Mgfff… Mgfrrk! A-Awoo!” But Gale still had one other thing she could do - the natural ability of dragons to breathe fire. To clear away the cloth sock tried to force its way into her mouth, Gale breathed her Dragon Fire. Burning it away was her only method of action.

But at half an inch tall, the small amount of fire she generated couldn’t compare to the thickness and dampness of Vio’s sweaty sock.

“Hm? Something feels warm.”

Thankfully, Vio was actually still perceptive enough to feel a slight change in temperature despite not being able to feel the tiny Gale and distinguish her from the lint inside her boot.

Rumble! Rumble!

“Awoo?” Gale found herself moving against her will. Just like with Vio’s barefoot earlier, her body was now stuck to Vio’s sock as the fox beastkin removed her sole from her shoe to check what she had felt.

That was when an amber eye completely took up all of Gale’s vision.

“Huh…? A tiny person inside my boot? Did someone get Mini’d…” Vio’s voice boomed in Gale’s ears. Gale was thankful that Vio, like most adventurers, were accustomed to the Mini status effect. She was also even more thankful that her own features as a dragon girl were extremely recognizable. “Wait, those green wings and tail. Is that you, Miss Gale?”

“... A-Awoo. Hi Miss Vio!” Gale nervously responded, aware that the fox beastkin could hear her with her big ears. Looking around, she saw that Vio had gotten fully dressed. When she felt Gale, she had hopped back onto her bed to take off her boot, so Gale was now directly above Vio’s bedsheets if she ended up peeling off of the fox girl’s black stocking.

“Isn’t your Master supposed to be the Mini’d one and not you? Actually, isn’t this size smaller than the size he normally is? How’d you shrink? Was it those faeries messing around?” Vio asked, not bothering to pick Gale off of her foot out of fear of squishing the tiny dragon girl.

“Ah, I actually shrank myself using what I was taught when I was an Elder Dragon, awoo,” Gale honestly explained everything. “I wanted to sneak into your room, Miss Vio. Awoo… I’m sorry.”

Hearing those words, Vio was confused. “Sneak into my room? Why would you want to do that?”

“... because I was worried, awoo,” Gale frowned. “You’ve been avoiding me, so I wanted to know why.”

Upon hearing those words, a face of regret flashed on Vio’s face despite her mask hiding half of it. “Oh… Whoops. I guess I’m kind of bad at keeping secrets. My bad for making you feel down like that, Miss Gale.”

“Secrets?”

“Well, I was actually going to do this tonight, but I guess I’ll show you now,” Vio reached into her tail to pull something out from her own personal [Inventory].

“Awoo?” Gale watched with confusion as Vio searched her tail.

“Yup. I wanted to set the mood for tonight so I could give you this, but I think it’s a better idea to just do it now to clear things up,” Vio explained with a happy tone. “Y’see, that Chief in the Elf Village was talking so much to the Guild Master about taking care of those you care for that it got me thinking: ‘I should show my appreciation to Miss Gale since we’ve been so close since we met on this continent’”

It was then that Vio took out two accessories. Gale could see that they were woven with only two colors: green and purple. “Bracelets, Miss Vio?”

Vio nodded and explained. “In my hometown, we typically give woven bracelets made with Rainbow Bondegrass to our friends, family, and lovers. I asked Miss Iora to get this for me in secret so I could make these for us.”

“R-Really? For me, awoo?” Gale was touched. “Then that means you weren’t mad at me after all?”

“Why would I ever get mad at a cute dragon girl like you, Miss Gale?” laughed Vio. “Now come on. How about you grow back up so I can put this thing on you? Also, it’s weird talking to someone the size of an ant that’s stuck to my foot right now.”

Gale smiled and nodded. She was happy to know that Vio hadn’t been mad at her after all. It had, in fact, been the opposite. To receive such a gift from Vio meant that the two of them had really gotten close with each other. Gale happily wanted to wear that Bondegrass Bracelet as a symbol of their relationship.

… She wanted to, but there was one LITTLE problem with that which Gale only just realized now.

“... Wait… How do I even grow myself back, awoo?”
