Some WIP on Usuimo!

This post will mainly report on the progress of the Abyss adventure!

The first update to report is about our new hand-drawn pixel maps!

Right now, a new map called "Cat Slime Village" is close to being finished. In this map, the cat slimes — after two and a half years of practice — will perform singing, dancing, and rap for MC, bringing extra fun to his adventuring life! Sorry, I made all of that up.

In this map, the cat slimes practice singing "The Cat Slime Song." If MC learns the song and joins the cat slimes to complete the chorus, it will summon a special boss: the Cat Slime King.

This map is a brand-new experiment for us. It's our first time creating an animated pixel map entirely by hand-drawing, and we plan to gradually replace the game's existing maps with hand-drawn maps in this style. We believe this will bring a more fairytale-like, dreamlike feel to the adventures in the game!

On a side note! When I first played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I always assumed that the little house Link buys was part of a post-game story — that Link would go on living in that house with Princess Zelda, keep adventuring across Hyrule, and now have a home he could return to anytime… So when I beat Calamity Ganon and realized the game was over, I felt really disappointed. That's probably one of the reasons I wanted to make a game that balances both adventure and a slow, cozy life. I hope the effort we've put into the adventure gameplay lets everyone feel the charm of this "adventure + slow life" theme too!

Here's the second part of our progress update! Besides Mistilteinn we teased last time, we're also working on a whole series of new monsters to add to the Abyss.

The second one is a powerful member of the bunny maid family — the Bunny Maid Commander! Running their business in a dangerous place like the Abyss, the bunny maids naturally need serious power to protect their assets down there. So any Onii-chan who likes vandalizing public property had better watch out — most of the public facilities in the Abyss are the bunny maids' property!

On top of that, the Misty Forest will be getting a new resident too. If you've read this manga, you probably already know what kind of story this little octopus has…
