October 2023 Postcard!
Hey friends! Check out the prints and completed design for next month's postcard! It was fun to finally finish the "Secret Snack Time with Dot" design, so thanks for voting for it! I'm so excited to write and send these out to all qualifying tiers (Shooting Starfish and up) for October. If you've changed addresses recently, please make sure you've updated it on Patreon so you don't miss out! :)
Since the last postcard, I've worked hard on the narrative writing and implementation for the new Moonshell Island Demo and continue to navigate collaboration toward completing the demo's systems and planning for the eventual securing of funds and a small team dedicated to full production of the game. I don't want to rush this part, though. It's important to consider my options carefully and look at what is truly sustainable for me to follow through on myself, and to expect of others. Fingers crossed an ideal scenario can be worked out soon!
In the meantime, I'm taking a close look at what helps me stay engaged with the project and enjoy myself at the same time. Part of that is studying and experimenting with strategies for managing my ADHD and migraines. This includes stepping back, slowing down and prioritizing life outside of development a bit more to nourish myself. After all, some of the best ideas and solutions reveal themselves when you're not searching so hard for them.
So the theme of this postcard is sneaking away from your endless to-do list of responsibilities to have a secret snack time with the folks you can be yourself around. Bonus points if the snack is something strange, like a peanut butter & pickle sandwich! What is your favourite weird food combo?
Make sure to give yourself some gratitude today - you deserve it. I know I'm grateful for you!
Your pal,
Sam

I used to snack on hot cheetos, chex mix, and milk lol
Yummm... Painfully delicious, but less painful with the milk!
Talking of migraines, and weird food, does Kraft Dinner and ketchup count? :)
I LOVE Kraft Dinner and ketchup!!! (though I use Annie's brand for the gluten-free version) 😋
