Holden FC Special (Pre-1960 ATCC Racing)

In Australia Before the ATCC there were some amazing racing that has been forgotten. The Cars that raced then was the foundation that became the ATCC in 1960. It was when many drivers first raced on many tracks that are now gone and are Housing developments or even Golf Courses. These cars and track are going to be a new part of ABB to help recreate and put into Assetto Corsa by Our Amazing Team.

This will Also allow over 50 new model cars into game.

This is the First of Many to Come

"Pre-Appendix J ATCC" refers to the period before the implementation of Appendix J regulations in the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which was the first official championship race in 1960. Before the introduction of Appendix J, racing in the ATCC involved standard road cars with limited, but specific, modifications allowed, a simple and cost-effective approach to encourage competition. The new Appendix J rules were a response to the growing popularity of touring cars and aimed to showcase vehicles similar to what customers could buy.

Before Appendix J

  • Rules:

Regulations allowed for some modifications, but the rules were more relaxed and less codified than the later Appendix J rules.

  • Philosophy:

The goal was to allow more drivers to compete and appeal to spectators by showcasing more accessible, road-going vehicles.

  • Context:

Touring car racing gained popularity as a contrast to open-wheel and sports car racing.

The Shift to Appendix J

  • Motivation:

The increasing popularity of touring cars led to the creation of new, more regulated rules for racing.

  • Regulation:

The Appendix J rules were a new class of regulations for touring cars, allowing limited modifications while keeping the cars close to their showroom origins.

  • ATCC's First Race:

The first Australian Touring Car Championship in 1960 was held specifically for these Appendix J cars, marking the official start of the championship under the new, more formalized touring car regulations.

Great car to drive. You can have fun with this powering out of the corners. Sounds great to. Only two faults found the exhaust stays red when racing and the steering wheel in VR is acting strange. It moves with steering but also stays still. Hard to explain.
