LAUNCH DAY

On this very appropriate day of September 1st, I am astounded to see a "PLAY" button on Steam for Titanic: Honor & Glory.

There's no question THG has had its ups and downs. In the last 5 years since I joined the core leadership of the project (following 8 years of being on the team generally), I can confirm there have been more downs than ups, and the downs have HURT.

This "game" has felt cursed at times. It has ended friendships. It has sparked rumors and conspiracies. It has made me an antagonist in the eyes of great historians who have never met me. I've argued with other members of the team, POLITELY argued with members of the community, I've been called awful names, and I've outright QUIT the team at least twice? Only to return a few days later with a cool new idea.

Because I was a fan of THG long before I was on the core team. I donated 50 bucks to the GoFundMe! I've wanted this damn project to find its way as badly as anyone else.

And look, we are nowhere near the release of a full experience. There's a lot of work ahead. But all that matters to me today is there is a "PLAY" button on Steam and when you click it, you get transported to Belfast during Titanic's construction and it's SO COOL.

It's no "Adventure Out of Time," the game that changed my life and introduced me to Titanic, but you can consider this keel laid.
