Early Audio Cut - Need Opinions
I'm working on a doc on the history of Mario 64, and this is the first five minutes. I'm trying to use a new voice for documentaries, so let me know what needs changed in order to better make the audio informative, yet entertaining.

Hum, quite a big change. Personally I feel like you are sad while talking, I prefer the other voice bc it has like some excitement about what you were talking about . This to me sounds like You're a teacher and you're giving a lesson you gave hundreds of time and your heart and mind aren't on the lesson. Just my two cents
Definitely, I think it's a bit too low-energy for what you want to do. I know keeping up your normal VNN voice would be hard for a longer video, but it might be better to record more separate takes for the audio.
So, what's the "new voice"? Is it saying "Luigi had to be cut" a half-dozen times (which is fine, since this is pre-editing and "raw"). I didn't mind your "old voice". If this is y our "documentary" voice, versus your normal "let's discuss why you are not seeing anymore TF2 updates" .. ok, I get it ... different material .. different voice. Personally, CONTENT matters .. not voice. I wouldn't care if you had a lisp if what you were discussing was fresh, original, factual, and on some topic I cared about (e.g., TF2). The only "bad" part was this was discussion Mario and not TF2. I don't care about Mario .. so the CONTENT (not the voice) was the let-down.
I mean, it's Tyler's channel, he can cover Nintendo if he wants to, and if he's as nerdy about the research as he is with VNN, I'm sure people will find it fascinating. The argument here is whether his change in voice works or not, not whether he should be making nintendo videos in the first place
I'm torn. It's definitely less high energy than your other voice(?) but it also makes you sound a little bored/annoyed with the subject matter. If it were a decision between one of the other I'd go with your previous one. Can you split the difference? Are you smiling while recording? I always get told off by my directors for not smiling while taping commerical auditions for VO
