โœ‚๏ธIntroducing Serena Beckett

The dependable, sweet, caring Serena. She spent years bending over backwards for the people she considered family. She paid bills that weren't hers, babysat kids that weren't hers, and let cousins crash on her couch for "just a week," only for it to turn into months, rent-free, mind you. Every time she thought she was finally getting ahead, someone always showed up with their hand out.

Serena may be kind, but she has her limits. She started saying no and asking to be compensated for the sacrifices her family expected her to make. Suddenly, she was the villain. So, she washed her hands of them and moved on with her life. Everyone who never appreciated her presence or the role she played was sent straight to the block list.

Now Serena's in a new city with a new mindset: "Everything I do, I do for me." She's landed a job as a hairstylist at one of the best salons in town, where she's building her clientele and sharpening her skills until she can finally open a salon with her name front and center: Serena Studios.

With her head held high and her sights set on the future, leaving her family behind isn't as easy as blocking a phone number. Every so often, a text from an unknown number reminds her exactly why she left. Will Serena finally break free from the shackles of her past, or will it drag her back into the life she fought so hard to escape?
