One of the forbidden technologies possessed by the Iron Hands (banned by Ferrus himself) is cybernetic resurrection from the dead. They've tried to resurrect him before and failed, but if they've succeeded...
I hope if he ever returns, he comes back as an abomination. Or not return at all

This would be a great comeback design, as many cybernetic high-level Imperium figures, need to really amp the body-horror.
One of Ferrus' biggest failures was allowing the bionic limb replacement to continue to the extent that it did. He saw what was happening, and his plan was "I'll deal with it later." All the Primarchs never saw themselves dying, and that ended up being a huge issue for their legions.
You'd think they'd put a placeholder head on it at the very least, even if it serves no function. Maybe draw a smiley on it.
