Here is where it starts...

I wanted more. I sat on the sofa.

The hand was still on my thigh, over the skirt. The room was dim behind me and the box sat on the table, a small brown square. A corner of the light was on it.

I tried to go to sleep.

I stood up and took a step toward the hall. My hand came with me, flat on my thigh. It did not move when I moved. I was twenty-one and I had spent three years telling myself I was a girl nothing happened to.

I sat back down. The sofa had been cold an hour ago. It was warm now. I told myself I was resting, and that was all.

I did not stand up.

My fingers moved.

They moved a little, one small circle over the skirt. I let them, because stopping would have taken a decision. I did not have one.

So I gave in to the heat.

The sweater came off first. It went on the arm of the sofa. The skirt came off next and went on the floor. I was sitting on my own sofa in my own underwear with my hand between my legs. The heat was in my belly and in my thighs.

The panties came off last.

What happens next:

She comes. Three times. Over and over, in waves. It goes on longer than she thought she could take.

She puts her finger in her mouth. It is salt and warm and she is stunned by it.

At the end of the night she makes a flat admission. Her hand was not enough.

She knows where it is. Third floor. The light under the door. The number, twelve.
