EXP Update - July 2026
Hello Patrons!
Chris here, with all the latest from EXP Towers. It’s July and we’ve got an exciting month ahead.
This month we’re welcoming not one, but TWO NEW EXPERTS into the EXP fold.
First up we’ve got Dr. Rebecca Simon, an author and historian focusing on Early Modern Piracy. Dr. Simon will be looking at Windrose, the co-op Pirate game that so many people have been playing this year since it launched into Early Access. Pirate Expert Reacts to Windrose is out 14th of July right here on Patreon.
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL.
We’re happy to extend our collaboration with the Royal Armouries and welcome Iason-Eleftherios Tzouriadis, their Curator of European Edged Weapons to the channel. You might be familiar with Iason from their YouTube channel, and we’re super excited to make some videos that will show off the side of the Royal Armouries collection that so far we’ve not been able to highlight. We’re kicking off with a classic - Dark Souls - which some of you might know features a version of a real-world helmet on display at the museum. That episode will be available on Patreon on July 28th.
Elsewhere, it’s a full slate of episodes for Jonathan as he breaks down a series of bonafide classics (and some Warhammer too), including a look at Darktide (including its recent update), Metal Gear Solid (and its remake The Twin Snakes), Max Payne 1 & 2, Predator and the upcoming remake of the original Halo.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE.
After a fallow month, our Patreon live stream will return on Tuesday 21st July at 3pm BST / 10am ET, with the lads playing Heave Ho 2, which launches this month. If you’re not familiar with Heave Ho, it’s a gloriously chaotic co-op game that Adam, Chris and Dave played together years ago. Its sequel will no doubt offer more of the same infuriating, hilarious fun.
Also, as ever, we’ll be chatting total rubbish on the pod each week too. So that’s 2 new experts, 5 podcasts, 7+ videos, a livestream, and some other stuff going on (that we can’t talk about just yet). Blimey.
Lastly, if you’re a fan of our merch, keep your eyes peeled for something exciting coming soon.
Cheers!

So, have calendars gone out of fashion? :P
I swear if you get an aircraft expert that doesn't work at Wright-Patt Airforce Museum, I will be extremely disappointed.
Patiently waiting for Windrose 👀
Apologies, the Windrose episode has been delayed a little, we'll be posting a new calendar before the week is out!
I am unreasonably excited for a cursed Hawaiian shirt!
A new nitrile glove colour 🤣🤣
Finally 1998's MGS. You all sure kept me wanting, huh?
Oh hell yeah!! We got new experts joining the exp family! Dr Simon I think will like windrose as it is a fun pirate game as I played so many hours of it and even started another session with my friends. They actually hit the million mark of purchases. And we got a blades expert too. Dark souls is a good game to start him off with. Definitely going to be a good month with the roster. Max payne series is a great with the action in it and nice selection of guns including the last installment of 3 which the slow motion animation in the game is still so good with a good variety of guns. And I was wondering when you guys were going to do predator movie, that’s such a classic that even to this day looks still great visually although it was a bit of production nightmare. Get to see the minigun which fun fact for the predator video game that was made, they added the minigun from the movie in the game as both a reference and usable by players. And of course the movie is another with the mp5, Jonathan will be happy. The 29th of July is my birthday too!
I remember Dr Rebecca Simon on Insider's expert-reaction series "How Real Is It?" So looking forward to the extend cut of her EXP videos!
