Hey there DoubleHook. I'm interested in your NPCAI but I do have a couple of questions. First does it support local models? I have a local linux server inferencing my own models but I don't see any tech information about the setup, can you expand on that and tell me if npcai works with local inference servers?

Hey DoubleHook, I was wondering if this mod will be released on the official LSPDFR website anytime soon. I really like the idea, and I'd honestly be happy to pay the $5 for it. My only concern is that, since it's distributed outside of the official LSPDFR site, there's no easy way for me to verify the integrity of the files. That's the only thing holding me back from purchasing it. If it ends up being released through the official LSPDFR website at some point, I'd definitely buy it. Thanks for all the work you've put into the project!

hello im not sure if im doing it wrong or what but all the codes was put in like the video and i see my moth moving and the npc stops to talk to me but its like a. they cant hear me or b. they arent responding please help

If I set it to Cantonese and say "Please give me your identification," why does the NPC only say they will give it to me but not trigger the animation of showing identification? I'm using PR , but saying "show me your ID" in English will trigger an action. Is there anything else I need to configure?

I've been testing NPCAI and the conversations are great but only really matter in context of traffic stops and/or pursuits currently. It would be a great idea for immersion purposes where the AI goes along with what's happening in a callout or certain situation to make it feel more realistic, currently the AI will deny any involvement in callouts like traffic accidents, attempted self-injury, etc. It will claim "I was only walking and looking at the sunset" regardless of the NPC's location or situation. I hope one day it will have callout and scene recognition.

Hi! First of all, thank you for your work on the NPCAI plugin for LSPDFR. I wanted to ask about a current issue with Gemini API keys. The plugin appears to require an API key starting with “AI”, but Google AI Studio is now generating new keys that start with “AQ”. As a result, the plugin rejects the key even though it is valid. Are you aware of this problem? Do you have any plans to release an update or hotfix to support the new Gemini API key format? Thanks in advance!

I don’t know if it’s possible because of limitations, but it would be really cool if we could give commands directly from inside the patrol car. For example, if we pull up right next to another vehicle, we could tell the driver to pull over and they would actually react realistically, either stopping on the side of the road, driving away, or reacting differently depending on the situation, almost like a real traffic stop.

Hello DoubleHook. Love this project you been developing. I ran into a small Issue. All my fault. What are the acceptable controller binds. I had it set to leftdpad and it was working perfect. then I tried to bind it to leftthumbstick but couldn't get that to work. Cant even get it back to normal now. lol. Is there a list of controller binds that can be used. Seems like every ini file uses a different format. I would appreciate it if I know the correct binds needed for NPCAI. AND.......by the way....... this script is why I came back to LSPDFR after 6 years away.

Hello, I don’t know if this has already been reported, but when I handcuff a suspect and ask him to get into my vehicle, then I also get in as the driver, the suspect gets out of the vehicle in the meantime (using STP). Again great mod 😍

Hey, I’ve been testing NPCAI and I just wanted to share an idea that could take immersion to the next level. Right now the conversations are amazing, but they feel isolated per NPC. What would completely change the experience is a persistent memory + relationship system between NPCs and the player. For example: NPCs remember previous encounters (good or bad interactions) Information spreads between related NPCs (gang members, associates, etc.) A simple contact/phone system where you can call or reconnect with NPCs you’ve met This would allow proper long-term RP scenarios (informants, corrupt cop storylines, gang contacts, etc.) instead of one-off interactions. Even a lightweight version of this (basic flags like “met player”, “hostile”, “friendly”, “owes favor”) would already massively increase immersion. Just wanted to share the idea because I think NPCAI is already the closest thing to a living GTA world, and this would push it even further.

This is amazing, thank you. I don't know much about this stuff, but is it possible to use other AI models in the future? The Gemini one is obviously very safe and PG, which doesn't quite fit in the GTA world.

It would be cool to use other AIs like ChatGPT because I have a subscription to it, and in my opinion, it is more responsive and better than the Gemini API. Please also consider this option so that it can be chosen.

im ajc200x on youtube i made a highlighted comment on BlueLine Vibes channel, im pretty clued up with AI programming and context handling systems, im 46 been around the block, would be happy to give some free help towards the project. im pretty adverse at using , opencode, GPT/Codex, the "agents" file manipulation, agentic processing, order of execution, things like that, id help in creating a more cohesive memory system for the project. regards Andrew.

I hope that one day we also get something like a AI dispatch. It would be really cool to be able to talk to an AI dispatcher that can actually respond to you. Because with Grammar Police that’s not possible, you are only being contacted by dispatch for a safety check during a traffic stop, but you can’t really communicate back with it. A partnership between you and Blueline would be the best! also I’d really like to see the AI become more interactive, even without us directly addressing it first. For example, it would be great if the AI could occasionally initiate communication on its own, making the experience feel more dynamic and realistic.
