Update on My Re-Appeal
Hi everyone! How was your weekend? I hope it was better than mine. Unfortunately, my second appeal to reinstate my channel has been denied again. I did have hope since I submitted a detailed PDF addressing every single example in the sexual and nudity content guidelines. I even included screenshots of my videos and explained their purpose thoroughly.
However, I received a response, stating that I am not allowed to upload content related to fetishism. I initially thought the issue might be the focus on my chest since I don’t show my face in videos, but it seems that’s not the problem. Based on what I’ve read, body parts like the chest and buttocks can commonly cause arousal, thus, they aren’t classified as fetishism.
Now, I’m left wondering what might be considered fetish-related. A few possibilities I’ve thought of are:
The movement of my hands and hands themself.
Whispering or heavy breathing (though I don’t do this excessively)
Different roleplay costumes (which are not sexual)
If you have any thoughts or suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it, as it would help a lot for any future appeals. (I know I’m not technically allowed to appeal again, but I’m determined to keep trying in any way I can.) Thank you for sticking by me and for all your kindness—it truly keeps me going.
P.S Please don't write anything bad about Youtube as I might use the screenshots of your comments for the appeal! Thank you

Keep appealing, just keep doing it. Annoy the heck out of them. 😏😈😼
🥲Thank you for the support
Honestly, unless they're counting ASMR itself as a "fetish", I can't think of anything that would have counted. There's genuinely nothing.
Yes, I suspect that as well. I don't think they’re very fond of ASMR.🥹
There are so many others that do the same type of asmr videos as you do. Seems discriminatory that they removed you but not others. You should open an Instagram account. You could generate lots of followers again and monetize your content.
I whole heartedly agree. You find similar videos all over YouTube, and some are obviously trying to be explicit and yet they’re still active.
I think it's time for you to take another level of approach. Contact a lawyer and get this done without depending on YouTube. As of my understanding, YouTube is considering the movement and the skin of your hands and chest somehow a sexual display, which is an absurd. Your channel was reported and not caught by YouTube algorithm correction, therefore you would need a lawyer specialized for this matter before you lose the time to recover your channel. There's nothing more you can do about this, and our comments in screenshots won't help either. Unfortunately, you would have to compare yourself and channel with other ASMR channels out there, as a counter argument. I hope this helps, take care!
I agree, I wouldn't mind paying a fair price to keep the Patreon. Although, she would still lose a lot of visibility. I think she might have an enemy or similar competitors that massively reported her channel, that could also happen with the help of bots. Youtube can't do nothing about it but to follow the flow and do the math.
It makes me wonder if anyone at YouTube has taken the time to actually watch your videos? It seems to me the answer is NO. If YouTube wants to maintain its stance, they should provide you a detailed report on every video that details minute by minute each instance there is an alleged sexual/fetish violation. Just simply stating “your videos are explicit” with zero supporting examples is gaslighting at best.
Thank you, I agree with you. They never tell me specifically what the issue is. The flagged timestamp was literally just me sitting still, and I thought maybe it was because the camera was focusing on my chest. But now they’re saying fetish?! What fetish?!
You didn’t do anything wrong. There is not a single thing you should second guess about your beautiful work and artistry. YouTube is frankly just stupid and you unfortunately got someone who doesn’t understand asmr deciding things. I’ve seen other artists get violations like you got who make similar types of videos. They didn’t deserve it and you most definitely don’t deserve it.
Thank you🥹 I did see some of the other ASMR videos put down due to similar reasons which is so sad. But I haven't seen anyone's channel suspended! Why is this happening😭
Fetish?! I purposely avoid anything remotely sexual with asmr, that stuff is just plain creepy to me. Your content is the complete opposite, which is why I love it. I don't feel unsafe or uncomfortable, they help me with stress and sleep, and are always well made! 🥺💖
Yes, me too! That's why I never make mouth sounds. I really don't know how this is happening to me🥹
there is one of your videos (the autumn spa with the rain in the background, I really hope you put it up at some point) I listened to several times after a panic attack/ptsd flashback. Something about the lowkey lighting and voice in your video, the quality details and sensory cues, is grounding without being too agressive or overstimulating like a lot of other asmr out there, I'm not sure why but it helped in ways I've rarely seen with other content, so I really hope you get to keep creating 😢
I will definitely post that video soon! I really like that one as well!
That "fetish" argument is deeply absurd, by that standard anything and everything on youtube can be considered a fetish (since the definition is "arousal related to object or activity not directly tied to sexual organs") and they should just close the whole website. It is really worrying that they could just take down any random channel or video at any time for nonsense reasons and illustrates the need for alternatives (I really hope even if your channel gets reinstated you keep patreon. stuff like this makes me really angry at YT and how dependent on it I have gotten)
Exactly! That’s the point—it feels like anything could be labeled a fetish, which makes it so much harder for me to appeal since there’s no clear, bold line defining it. 😞 Thank you for being angry for me🥲
Keep appealing! We’ll send things out too if you need!
unless asmr itself is fetish content there is nothing “fetish”y about your content…
That's what I am thinking... Maybe they just assume ASMR itself is sexual. But then there are so many ASMR content on Youtube, right?
Hmmm....In your appeal did you include any of the research done on ASMR to show it isn't something done for ~naughty~ intentions? They probably won't read it...but it's worth a shot.
I did! I wrote about 8 pages of explanations, but I honestly doubt if they even read it. 🥲 I’m currently working on another appeal addressing the misconception between fetishism and my content. Fingers crossed this time!
I know that long ago some people mistakenly associated asmr as a sexual or arousing experience but for the majority of people that like asmr it’s not sexual, it’s calming and helps people relax and go to sleep. I’m genuinely really stretching my brain to see what could be considered sexual or fetishistic about your content. Maybe it’s because it’s asmr “roleplays” and some roleplays are sexual but these aren’t sexual roleplays at all. Anyone who sees your content knows there’s nothing even remotely sexual in them.
Like you said, I think YouTube is associating ASMR with arousing content, even though ASMR is about relaxation and comfort, not anything sexual. Thank you for your kind words and understanding—misconceptions like these are truly disheartening.🥲
The really weird part to me is that there are… actually fetishy channels out there. I know because I stumbled across them under the ASMR tag from time to time. Like, the number of “ASMR” VA channels that focus on yandere role play… and usually they don’t get into the explicit content (they seem to reserve that for paid Subscriptions on patreon based on descriptions I’ve stumbled on), but they certainly flirt with the line plenty (I listened to a few out sheer curiosity). And a few of these I’ve seen are years old with no issues. So really, the mind boggles they’d target you when there’s so much that actually violate their standards out there… truly.
I would like to know why exactly youtube is considering your content fetishistic! Unfortunately knowing how they operate I don't think we'll ever get a good reason from them... I do wonder if it's because of the spa roleplay videos you've done? I think the content of those may be skewed towards 'fetish' in the eyes of someone who's never had a spa experience. I think how professional someone acts in that setting defines if someone could view it accurately as 'fetish' or not. That said, the professionalism in those videos was obvious! They felt actually going to the spa and receiving treatment from a professional, not just being at home in bed watching asmr lololol also! someone else in these comments brought up possibly using academic sources on asmr and fetishism in your next appeal- I have access to academic journals thru my school if you ever need anything like that :)
Ohhhh… you know. Massage videos could do it. That CAN be associated with fetish. Obviously NOT what Genre does but if someone were knee jerking with zero actual content review.
this is really dispiriting to me. You take such care and attention to creating really quality videos, and for me that's helped set apart your channel. None of your content is even remotely sexual—in fact, they've helped me get to sleep now for the better part of 10 months since I found your channel. We're all supporting you, and I hope you're able to stay strong in the face of this and persevere!! 화이팅!
Thank you for the support! I am glad I was able to help you! I really wish to make new content as soon as possible once I can see where I'm going, but it's really not working out well😭
Fetish ? Really ? And of course they didn't tell you what they consider fetishism, what video or really anything that could be useful...
Yes, I don't know either... I am so frustrated at their response🥲
Fetish…?! Truly…?! And they won’t tell YOU why that is?! Racking my brain hard, the only thing that could maybe edge anywhere near there are the couple of bathing spa videos—they are innocuous personal attention, but the potential implied nudity of the listener (though people will do that shiz in swimsuits, too) maybe could skirt that if you’re squinting hard? But even that’s—a stretch and a half. I had thought maybe it was the chest level thing but there are a dang lot of ASMRtists who use that angle. And it’s not fetishy or even… sexual? It’s legit just your torso. Even in the mermaid one you are pretty dang covered. I feel more like they’ve just lumped ASMR as a fetish, but even then, yours are among the most wholesome out there. Plenty of ASMRtists flirt with sexual content, but you really, truly don’t go there. So unless they going to just ban ASMR wholesale (which WHY?), it’s weird to pick out/on your channel, which is very far from whatever fetish mark they’re reaching towards. It’s just absurd. I can’t believe a second appeal got such a response. They reaaaaaallly need a better process because it’s just a comedy of WUT at this point, I’m so sorry.
I don't think it's the chest thing anymore because they specifically said something about fetish and I believe showing cleavage(which I didn't one show) is not considered as one. But they'd never tell me the details which means I have zero chance of finding out🥲😭
If this is somehow fetish content, then youtube would have to take down EVERY asmr channel (although they shouldn't). Almost every asmr I've watched uses the 3 things you mentioned as possible "offenders".
Yeah, I really can’t parse what’s “fetish” about any of it unless, yeah, they’re just wholesale labelling ASMR fetish material—which—it’s not. Not even a little.
