Status Update #57 - April 12, 2026
I didn't get nearly as much writing done in the past six days as I'd have liked to, due to a myriad of issues, the most prescient of which being that I am yet again stuck feeling indifferent about writing a scene with a bunch of different minor variations in branching options. It's really lame feeling so bleh on the prospect of writing the game when it's otherwise just about my favourite thing to do. I have got to figure out a way to power through this particular flavour of apathy, as it has derailed my progress at least four or five times throughout the history of development. On the bright side, art is still progressing at exactly the rate I expected it to, and is very close to being fully finished.
I am rather unpleased with my output from this week, and I would like to hold myself to a more clear standard. I already have every event that is yet to be completed in this release mapped out, but it would seem that isn't enough; as such, I'm going to work out a schedule where I figure out just what I plan to do on a given day. I'll report back with my findings next week, as they'll likely paint a much clearer picture of when I'll be done writing.
Here is the remaining tasks list for this week, though it is stagnant from last Monday's update. I'm hoping to get that 50-60 up to at least a 65 the next time you hear from me:
Writing: 50-60% done (with the goal of being finished by May 1)
Coding: 0% done
CGs: 3 more to be made
Animations: 2 more scenes to do
Background Art: 100% Ready
Music: 100% Ready
Apologies for the somewhat glum update; here's hoping next week's is much more positive!

Most important thing is don't push yourself too hard in the creative stage. This site and other forums are full of VN s that started strong with an author full of enthusiasm and then got abandoned due to Burnout. This must not Happen to this one!!! I personally would be totally fine if you used an LLM for just the Basic draft or inspiration of those parts of Text. I personally find it easier to write a text if I have a starting point I can tweak and rewrite into own stuff.
