Status Update #49 - February 17, 2026
Sorry that I'm so late this week! No excuses other than that I've been quite busy.
Progress on writing has been going okay, though I am a bit stressed with things I have to do on multiple ends at the moment. On top of writing, I am working on a version 1.04 of the last release to iron out a bunch of small issues in time for the Steam release. I'm going to say it'll be out by Saturday so as to give myself a viable due date. On top of that, I'm also going through the process of censoring the game for Steam; unfortunately, it is no longer possible for Early Access games to be NSFW, which means the full game will be accessible via patch on the Steam version. On top of on top of all that, I have my normal day job of course, so it's been a lot.
Lately I've been wondering whether or not I've been too ambitious in terms of the sizes of each release. It has been my vision this whole time to cleanly split Episode Two in half, but I'm not so sure anymore for a few reasons. First and foremost, the scale and size I have in mind for the remainder of Episode Two has gotten pretty big; I can see there being as many as 11 or 12 H-scenes remaining, most of which are animated, and most of which have yet to be produced. This takes a lot of time, and money, and I'd much rather get something out sooner rather than later. Additionally, I think smaller, more regular updates seems to be more in line with the way successful AVNs are distributed in general, and it makes sense; more regular updates means more attention for the game, and likely more money coming my way to help fund it without sacrificing anything in terms of long-term quality at all.
What do you think? Does the next update being a "smaller" one with 5 or 6 scenes still sound worth it to you? If I commit to this route, I'm sure I can get the next release out by April...and then the next one after that won't take as long as the two before it did. Let me know your thoughts!
That's all for this week; I'll be back next Sundayish for the next update! Thanks as always!

Might be in the minority opinion but I prefer waiting. I like having a bunch of new content with each release rather than getting it in smaller chunks. (Especially with Jezebel given its writing quality!) With other VNs I support I tend to skip several releases until I feel a decent amount of content is there to be played through.
Out of curiosity, did you think the last release had a good amount of content? Because I'm thinking I can split ep 2 into three parts that are each as long as part one.
Highly debatable. It can work either way. When they're too small and there's enough content it can frustrate people just as much as if they feel that nothing ever gets produced over long periods of times. Your updates take longer than for some other games, but they're packed with content. Personally, I'd rather have longer releases than a bunch of small ones.
I think there's a happy medium to be found. What I did end up releasing would probably be about the same length as pt. 1...just not longer, as was planned.
I think you should do what's best for continuing that project. In my opinion, smaller updates released every 4 to 6 weeks are generally better for developers. Why? Because in the months when you release an update, more people buy a membership. So, with this in mind, you should analyze whether the monthly income is satisfactory for you. If it is, make the game, releasing it every few months on average; if not, try releasing it more frequently. People who want more content will always be able to wait a few updates. It's important that you make the game how you want; if you make the game how others want, you might end up burning out and not making it at all. And I think most people watching this project and your loyal patrons would like to see this story end. The most important factor is that you should strive to deliver a similar amount of content, whether in smaller, more frequent updates or larger, less frequent updates, so that patrons don't feel like they're being ripped off. If anything is unclear, I apologize, but I'm using a translator. Good luck and best regards.
Thanks so much for the insightful response! You get to the heart of why I'm considering doing things this way; I'm pretty sure that more frequent releases means growing the game faster, which means more money to spend on art. It's all ultimately to the end of producing the game faster. I am getting annoyed by having to leave artists on standby for weeks at a time due to my budget lol.
I mean look at SUPERHUMAN it gets about 5-7 hours of content to read every 4-5 months and I think is top one in on f95 and personally I'd just wait longer for gigalong update I just got used to it. Waiting month and playing for 30 feels so bad that I can't do it for long while if I wait long I long for it to come back. In short I'll just keep it big NGL or made it into 4 -6 slices a year like superhuman
If you want to have hard Data, best make a proper Poll. However I have seen from other projects that Patreon prefers updates in the lenght and Form they got used to instead of smaller Updates. But this does not have to apply here.
I have no problem waiting if it means getting updates with more content. I'd rather you make the game you truly want to create than one rushed out because you're worried about taking too long.
Well, it wouldn't be rushed out per se; just wouldn't be as long. All the content that was going to be in this release originally but no longer was, would just be in the next one instead. But I get you! Thanks
