Return to the Shipwreck Coast - Episode 185

Ahoy there wonderful patrons!

We have been enjoying the kind of peace and quiet that only an area with no internet coverage can provide but a cost of the mild anxiety of not being able to upload our weekly video for you.

To bring you this episode, we have sailed four hours south from the Montebello Island group to Barrow Island to find some signal but will be returning to The ‘Monties’ on the next tide and there may be some delay in responding to any comments you my have. Please be patient as we do value your input but the remote nature of our surroundings imposes a few limitations!

This week we wrap up our time at The Abrolhos islands with a dive into history (Dad joke alert) and say farewell to the Cruising Kiwis as we race north to arrive at Shark Bay before a large weather system can make life interesting aboard the good ship Mirrool.

We hope this weeks episode finds you in good health and happiness.

Best Wishes

Troy & Pascale

Wonderful episode Troy and Pascale. Of course my favorite is the exciting sailing North. The boat is looking so good and is obviously working so well for you, it is a pleasure to see. I will be patient as you release videos as you are able but I do anticipate them eagerly! Best, Ben S/V DAWN on the Baja coast of Mexico

Wonderful episode! Great dive footage, and I love the fish IDs! Your description of the passage was clearly influenced by your experience with the Bight--that looked like pretty spirited sailing to me ;)

Hi guys. A little off topic but I think you'd be interested in the three year satellite track of a large white shark. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10160415213769369&id=519044368

Loved it. Weren't we lucky to get the perfect day to dive the Batavia remains. Chaotic Kiwis? You've got us pegged😉

I'm super glad you two get your off-grid time in while out exploring all these beautiful sights - I'll happily wait an extra week or two for the sake of you getting a good sail in! Cheers y'all!

Beautiful video! I am enjoying your revisit to wester Aus and the footage underwater as well as the active sailing. A HUGE bonus for me, something you've done in the past, is identifying the sea creatures (fish and other). You two are the best! :-)

I like fish ID info. Common name, scientific name, but knowing you two, you should also mention how they taste. :-)

Love that you are staying connected with the Kiwis. Their initial videos terrified me. So good to see those boys are still alive despite 😊

Awesome episode guys, love seeing how you work as a team. Great footage all round. What type of shark was that trying to tax your catch at the start? Cheers guys

Don't cha know I've grown to love you guys! Your charm and mellow vibe is at the foundation of what has always drawn me to the cruising life, mix that with the always endearing Aussie ethos, a purest boat kept tidy, great footage, editing, and music. Week after week when the episodes end there is a period of time I hesitate, savoring, feeling the come-hither pull to my soul. Great! Great! Great! ✍️))) Best, Rob

Great episode! Thanks Pascal for all the work you put into it - it shows! Received this episode just in time for breakfast here. Now of to work on my boat and the ongoing refit. Mirrool looks so comfy inside - so exciting to see especially when my own boat looks like a building site🙂
