WIND. All speeds, all directions - Episode 171

We hope you enjoy our latest as we slowly make our way to Robe after the fast paced start! The mystery tack to starboard that many of you were wondering about is also revealed. 😉

There was a slight delay in the early release this week folks because we are getting ready to leave the marina and sail to the Abrolhos tomorrow! We are very excited to explore this wonderful part of the world again, there were so many spots we missed out on last time in our race to get to the Kimberley we are looking forward to spending at least 3 weeks there.

We're hoping we'll have enough internet while we are out there to upload next week's episode. We should be able to notify you here if we don't have enough bandwidth to do so. In any event, it's only a short sail back to civilisation to schedule and upload videos once we've had a bit of sea time.

Until then and with gratitude

Troy and Pascale

Darn, to the skin I mean !!!

The anti-slip was so sharp that a minor fall or dragged footrest severe abrasions to the skin so I understand what you meant in your comment. Perhaps a bit of abrasion might lessen the damage ?

My wife and I barefooted a Farr 42 in the Whitsundays in the 1970's , the boat had just undergone an extensive refit including fresh anti-slip on the deck.

Awesome filming/editing yet again. Safe travels, fair winds, those easterlies should give you a great run north for the rest of the week.

Your boat rocks as much as my Freya. Lol. You are sure to become a believer in the Cataraman bunch in time. We all tack of after we’ve had our fill of rolls. Great job 👏 mate.

Yep ✍️)) ...one only needs to take a brief sideways look at Troy's DNA to understand the sound logic behind concocting and installing a hidden underground fuel tank... ( you know.. just in case...)...!!!

Great filming again! It’s really hard to get reality on camera of the actual sea state but you guys are nailing it, especially that last video too. So good to see the three of you (included Mirrool there) going so good after the refit! Looking forward to the adventure with you guys!

Nice one, folks. A real relaxing trip, at least on video, that is! AIS is a great thing. Are all boats in Australia required to have it? Oh and with the changing weather, and I assume warming, are you having to mess with the Dyneema tension as you go North?

I love the idea of having AIS and the integrated GPS in the VHF rig. I'll be looking to add that when it's time to upgrade my radio for more ambitious adventures. Great to see your teamwork on the sail changes, and life in general ;)

Loving the action after a lengthy period on the hard. Such freedom! The rig holds up well. Seemingly a bit more regular adjustment involved with Dyneema? Sending all the best as always!

Love your work and sailing skills. Pascal is now definitely proficient thanks to a great coach. Particularly like watching you both in the cockpit which is the same size as my current boat, a Noelex 25 with the same beam but a very much different disp/ball ratio than Mirooll...amazing. You are repeating the Clansman history....stay safe. PS the refit was extraordinary....you can take her anywhere now safely. Well done!!

Sailing is great in that you quickly get good enough to move the boat about but then refine those skills over a lifetime of learning.
