Finding Eden - Episode 123

In our final episode on the Australian mainland, we sail away from the worst of the bush fires headed for Tasmania. Rapidly changing weather conditions convince us to pull into the port of Eden where we find a few surprises!
This is our last video for a little while until we emerge from the wilds of the West Coast of Tasmania (we don't have any internet to upload videos out there!).
We hope this video finds you and your family safe, well and healthy.
As always thank you for your continued support of our productions.

Troy, on the safety tether for the trolling rod, what's the rationale for using the longline clip to the stay, as opposed to just tying the line directly to the stay? At a certain load, won't the clip come unclipped? Thanks

A longline clip is just faster to use as we change the rod to the windward side when we tack so we can be upright to fight a fish while making way. The clips can handle far more load than the fishing line can. We use one on our dinghy lift bridle.

Loved Pascy's gannet impression. and i'm afraid a shout out has to go to the new fishnet bather.

Loved it! Pascy giggles and a Pascy "yum" to round out the video. Thanks and fair seas my friends!Oh yeah, were those some kind of baby "walking sharks"? They were adorable!

Looks like harder sailing than the tropics.

North of Cairns was very difficult because we were head to weather in the trades so it's a nice change to be off the wind a bit more of the time now but we also see bigger seas now. Can be exciting!

Loved it! Thankfully, I've eaten, otherwise I'd be starving after seeing those delicious looking mussels. Enjoyed the sailing, both down wind, and close hauled. Mirrool and crew seem very able if not happy on all points of sail... And even a bit of engaging dive footage around those pilings! Guess I'll have to watch something else for a bit while you're off enjoying the wilds. Looking forward to seeing you when you emerge. Stay safe and happy, friends!

Well, we have to confess to being a bit happier off the wind than close hauled! I guess we might be the weakest equipment on board. We expect to do some world class foraging on the west coast of Tasmania so we'll be showcasing more of Pascy's talents on our return. Take care and we'll be back in a jiffy. T&P
