Between a Wreck and a Hard Place - Episode 97
Join us this week as we do lots of sailing (with some through wild weather) in southern Queensland waters. We forage for edible greens, visit and dive the extraordinary Tangalooma Wrecks and face challenging conditions exiting Mooloolaba.
We hope you enjoy and look forward to hearing your feedback.

Loved this episode!! Fantastic diving footage, and thrilling sailing through the rough weather and seas. And those greens looked great along with the eggs and salmon!
We did like this episode too as it had quite some variety and showed pretty well, the ups and downs of sailing- literally!
Fantastic the whole video from start to finish, the sailing, poor Pascale getting soaked, the diving and fish footage. What can I say. 馃憤馃彺鬆仹鬆仮鬆伋鬆仯鬆伌鬆伩鉀碉笍
Getting soaked was thrilling. Especially as the water was fresh, it was a nice drenching shower! Glad you enjoyed the vid Stuart - more wild weather sailing to come!
One of the best videos, folks. I love the wrecks and the diving fun with fish. BTW, what is the limit sea state you can take Mirrool. Thinking BSS 4 would be rough.
Cheers Joseph! http://www.wdcs.org/submissions_bin/WDCS_Shorewatch_Seastate.pdf - According to this pdf Mirrool has already been in BSS 6 regularly! There's BSS 6 and higher sailing coming in the next few episodes!
That's a great observation about the corrosion maybe affecting the sharks senses. I have seen them associated with large wrecks but not close in. Having said that, with the visibility on the day, we could have had a six meter Tiger Shark cruising by 10 meters away and missed her!
Troy's call to the Coastguard, Sailing Yacht Mirrool, at the time you could have called Her Surf Boat Mirrool! Also, thank you for the wonderful Aquarium Sequence at the Wrecks, I was half expecting to see a shark of some sort but maybe that much Iron Eroding and Corroding at once may give off too great an Electrical signal for them to use their senses properly? Thanks again Folks.
Beautiful place lots of fish there and awesome wrecks. A bit to much water over the boat to suit me but that is ok I don't plan on being in more water then I can drink and walk out the other side lol Love hugs and special prayers to my favorite sailing couple
Don't worry Dave, I think a lot of people would have found that exit a bit beyond comfort. As it was, our timing to get into our anchorage couldn't have been tighter and we were glad not to have to spend a rough night out in the bay.
Terrific! Thanks. Loving the tunes. Trevors galore! Not sure if you had a chance to dive the outer gneerings off Maroochy but the coral and micro are really fab, macro not so much because of the zoning. A fantastic blend of tropical and temperate species. ** editor notes sleeve in shot when turning off vhf ;)
We hadn't heard of the Outer Gneerings. When we sail back that way, we will try to check it out. Haha, Pascy sprung on the cutaway!
