From Coral to Coconuts - Episode 58

Join us for our last couple of days at Holmes Reef before we set sail towards the beaches of Hinchinbrook Island.

We really loved editing this one particularly the free diving and sailing sequences. I hope you enjoy it and my apologies for the delay on the release of this week's episode.

Good night for now patrons!

Phenomenal footage. Miela and Aster were again so mesmerised.

Cheers Rebs. We're pretty family friendly here at FRS, so glad the kids dig the fish!

Fantastic!! Loved the reef footage. Pascale up the mast, the wing on wing, and the coconut tutorial. I'm quite taken with Mirrool, and had a look at some Clansman on-line. Being OZ built, my guess is I'd be unlikely to find one in US. Of course there are lots of other options, and I'm still a couple of years off from needing to worry about it too much ;)

Very unlikely - but we love the Arlberg boats - they are basically the same as Mirrool just a little larger and there are plenty of Albergs in the US!

Hey! No Fair distracting me! I went and bought ANOTHER shirt. Some breathtaking sight took my memory away as well ;-). Oh well two shirts won't be too many and at least I chose a different color for this one ;-)

Oh yeah, I spotted an ersatz copy of Troy's knife in the Garrett Wade specialty tool catalog. Its not the one of a kind hand made beauty you have but its as close as I've seen without a trip to the islands! They call it a "Short Personal Machete" 04Do1024 and a quick search took me too the page.

You KNOW you have me at Crocodiles! I can't help m'self, CRIKEY that is a bigun! But the reef , oh my the REEF! Everything about it is just astounding. The deep parts, the shallow, the diversity. Just breathtaking! Such a treat to see you having so much fun. I'm quite envious.. Tim

You might enjoy a completely unrelated video of a Queenslander in his workshop, oh and a python: https://youtu.be/xPIfAGZKpfc?t=661

Great video. How long can you hold your breath???

T
Troy and Pascale · November 12, 2018

Safe breath hold is about 2 minutes then it is pretty uncomfortable. I have gone longer but the best way to go if snorkeling for a long session is 1 minute up, 1 minute down. Strong currents can reduce that a bit.

Was that 22 minutes? seemed like about 3 :)

Wonderful Video Guys, some beautiful Reef shots, and instruction how to get to the Coconut through the Armour, I did like the shots from up the mast too showing just how shallow some of those parts were. And Yes, I've ordered my T Shirt.

Pascale had a great time up there in her harness as we navigated out from the reef and did get some amazing shots. We hope you like the shirt when it arrives. We've had a few positive comments wearing them ourselves.

That is the kind of sailing that creates the dream. As usual excellent video.

It also helps keep our dream going. A few nice easy runs go a long way to tolerating the really hard days.
