Dev Update 18

Hello everyone!

We’ve made so much progress in the last month and we are ready to announce the release date for V0.4.0 - The Trent Update.

Afterwards we'll go over some of the stuff we've finished up since our last Dev Update.

1. Trent Update (V0.4.0) - Release Date

Official Release Schedule:

• Patreon Early Access: Friday, October 2nd @ 3 PM ET

• Free Public Release (Itch/Steam): November 1st @ 3 PM ET

Trent's Update has been such a blast to work on! Dr. Bird did an incredible job writing this chapter, and we can't wait for you to jump in and get to know our favorite football playing bookworm! Behind the scenes, we've continued to learn and refine our development process. We've brought on a very talented new animator and have seen our community continue to grow! We just crossed 20,000 members on our Discord! When we first started developing Edgefield, we couldn't have anticipated this level of engagement and support!

2. Scene Assembly

A large part of these past few weeks has been polishing the scenes in the Trent Update. We've made many improvements in our process and it is now faster than ever! Here's a peek at some screenshots from the game!

3. Trent Route Decision Graphic

As in the Jun Update, you will come to a point where you have to make a decision about Trent. After getting to know him, you'll have to decide if you'd like to pursue a romantic route with him, or keep things platonic and just remain friends.

4. New Dark Room Montage

Here is a quick look at the new Dark Room montage that replaces the old system. Because we plan on this feature being a much larger part of future content, we wanted the make sure the process wasn't overly cumbersome.

5. First School Project

In the Trent Update, you'll tackle your very first school project for your new Photojournalism class! What's college without a little homework?

6. Implemented SFX

We finished implementing all sound effects this month and have added a few new songs the the game. This is something we're going to continue to improve on and add to all future updates!

7. Playtesting / Bugs

We've finished our first round of playtesting and have just begun the second! We've already fixed a ton of minor bugs to ensure that your experience is as seamless as possible!

8. Feature Update Info Coming Soon

We are so excited to announce what is coming next for Edgefield, but believe that it deserves it's own post! So stay tuned for an in depth look into our next Feature Update, coming very soon!
