Dev Update 16

Hello everyone!

It's time for another Dev Update! We've accomplished a lot in the last month and are excited to share what we've been working on. Let's jump in!

1. Jun Update Released

Last month on July 3rd, we launched the Jun Update exclusively for our Patreon supporters! This update lets you dive deeper into Jun's storyline as you go on your first official date and help her pull off a major upcoming project.

And now The Jun Update is available to everyone to download for free on Itch.io and Steam!

2. Trent Update Checklist Added to Miro

Right after wrapping up the Jun Update, we dove straight into development for the upcoming Trent Update. We’ve set up the live checklist on Miro so our Patreon supporters (Sophomore tier and above) can track our day to day progress in real time. It's the best way to see what we're working on and to get a realistic feel for the timeline leading up to the next release.

3. New Side Characters

The Trent Update introduces two brand new side characters to the campus and we've already completed all the initial character poses and facial expressions for both! Introducing Jax and Professor Taylor.

4. New Class - Intro to Photo Journalism

With a new professor, you can naturally expect a new class as well! Your Intro to Photo Journalism class will be taught by Professor Taylor. The new phone graphics, grading system and backgrounds are all fully complete!

5. New Locations

As the world of Edgefield grows, we're continuing to add new locations! Here's a peek at what we'll be adding.

6. New Map Buttons

With new locations, come new map buttons!

7. New Poses & Expressions

We're still working on character poses for the Trent Update, but here are a few we've already finished!

8. All Writing Finished & Scene Assembly Started

All writing for the Trent Update is completely finished and Dr. Bird has already started assembling the scenes! Scene assembly is usually the most time consuming phase of an update, but she has been absolutely crushing it, putting us comfortably ahead of schedule!

9. Systems Blocked Out & Coded

A large part of the code for this update has also already been completed by Kicks! The new class system, the tasks and everything else that makes the game work are already in place!

10. Animations Are Finished!

The new animated scenes being added in the Trent Update are already complete and we know you are going to love them!

11. Discord Emoji Contest

We've kicked off a brand new community event! A custom Emoji Design Contest for our Discord server! If you’re feeling creative, hop over to our Discord and check out the #emoji-contest channel for full guidelines and submission details.

Submissions close on August 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM EST.
