Welcome to the Pattern Diaries!

Entry 1:

First, want to thank YOU for buying my first every graded pattern, the tea kettle hat. Truly it means the world and and every time it brings a little pixie dust to my steps. Second, I AM HARD AT WORK ON THE MEI PATTERN!! I am currently working on the first model test with Courtney and honestly, it is going surprisingly well. I was so nervous and excited to see the results of the test. While working on it, I realized any bust adjustment for the pattern would be too difficult for anyone to do, so I came to a quick decision to offer multiple cup sizes. I truly want the pattern to be an enjoyable process to make and at this point I have already done 5 Full Bust Adjustments...whats a couple more? Second, a back zipper is fine for more able bodied individuals, but can be difficult. I will be exploring other ideas to give options. And third, small doable adjustments on the pattern such as bust ease, back ease, and adjustment to the sleeve. On the video, we had the wrong waist size for Courtney since I used measurements from 2 months ago back when I thought I was ready to start model testing, hence the center cut.

I am truly hoping after 1-2 more tests, I can start looking for pattern testers! It has also come to my attention that not everyone knows how to use Patreon, so I will be taking the time to learn how to set up a discord server just for pattern testing and creatives. I want to provide a social place for all of us to connect and maybe help with deciding what pattern to grade next! SO MANY OPTIONS!

And lastly, I know the people who decide to test for me is doing me a huge favor. I know without the collective community of amazing makers that are willing to put their time, effort, and skills to test a pattern, pattern like mine would not exist. So as a thank you, pattern testers will get the pattern they are testing and a credit to a future pattern.
