So... This happened
So... This is what's been going on the past little bit. If you're in the Discord, you know that it's pretty much been resolved now, but I've had to adjust plans for the new workstation build video, and also a video about the things that led me to this tragedy.

Hello Emily. What's new in the world of Emily Young?
No idea if Emily will see this, as I'm having a little trouble with my discord (forgot my password and it's hooked up to my old email gonna get that fixed soon so I can join the community!) but I just wanted to say thank you for being the person you are, as a fellow Newfie tech isn't something that is talked about that much especially out on the west coast where I'm from, I remember clicking on a LTT video with Emily hosting and immediately recognised the accent, and I exclusively watched LTT for your videos and not even Linus's for a long time but because of the knowledge you shared I got into tech and to this day it is my main interest, hobby and aspiring to hopefully land a career with it in Newfoundland (I may be crazy with that last bit) but because of you I have something I love to do and to learn everyday, I'm so excited to see your content and watch the growth of your channel! Just wanted to get that off my chest and hope you see the comment❤️
Ouch. Well, suffering makes for good content and I'm looking forward to it!
If the MOBO has any value there are plenty of places that will replace a socket for under $100.
Happens to the best of us
I did this to a PC last year. It happens to the best of us. Glad you have a plan forward. You got this.
Ouch. Fortunately, I have not done this since the days of the 486, when the pins were in the cou and "large" by comparison - could fix it with some patience and a small pair of needle nose pliers 🤣. Hopefully it all works out for you soon!!!
Oof. On the scale of possibilities that would generate that type of subject line - we'll all gladly take a socket mishap over other possibilities.
Tragedy! I did this once upgrading a server board and had to replace the rig afterwords. It was terrible, I'm sorry you're dealing with it!
Yeah, I ended up replacing the motherboard for expedience (and because I'm not sure I can fix that anytime soon). Incidentally, doing that DID fix what I was trying to troubleshoot - An intermittent problem that I consistently thought I had resolved several times. I'm not sure if the individual board was bad or if it was the board design; I nearly found out, but I went with a different board in the end. There'll be a video all about the stuff I've been going through with this thing...
That sucks. No worries here waited this long I can wait a bit more. Just hope I am off work if you are live. If not I watch the video later.
Youch!
I saw the notification and I feared the worst! This was far worse than I could have imagined... 😢
Need a NSFW warning on that photo 😂 That’s a heartbreaker. I haven’t checked in on discord in a bit but it sounds like you were able to get it resolved
Yup! I mean. It's resolved insofar as my workstation is workstationing, not so much this board. That'll be a later thing.
Ouch! Bent pins always sucks. Glad you were able to find a solution lol
Yeah, it's up and running now; The solution was "buy a new one" in this case because I *really* don't want to keep extending the delay for a new video haha
That looks annoying. Hope it’s sorted soon.
It's mostly sorted! Well, I say that, I've got a new board. I need a proper magnifier and some precision tools to try and fix this. It's a cautionary tale of what happens when you get impatient and careless because you're fed up with dealing with it and you've already done this a bunch of times before.
