Japan Touge Map Dev Update: Foliage Nearly Complete & Progress Halfway!

Hey everyone!

We’ve hit a huge milestone on the Japan Touge project—we are officially 50% complete, and the foliage pass is nearly finished!

Over the last few sessions, I’ve been heavily detailing the riverbanks, lake shorelines, and mountain slopes, tuning the trees and groundcover to land that exact late-winter/early-spring transition vibe. The mountain streams and Japanese countryside vegetation are really bringing the environment to life.

What’s Done So Far:

• Core 3D road layouts and mountain passes mapped out.

• Custom riverbed, lakes, and water material physics dialed in.

• Foliage and forest density nearly complete across the lower valleys and river paths.
