🎮 Good Luke - Progress Update

Sup, Goodies! ❤️ How’s everyone doing?

Another week of progress is complete, and this time a big part of our work was focused on polishing the game experience.

While our artists continue producing new animations and content, we've been testing the game, improving interfaces, refining sounds, fixing small details, and making several parts of Good Luke feel much more intuitive and enjoyable to play.

And of course... we still have some hot new content in production. 🔥

🏠 Stephanie — New Animation

We're continuing production on Stephanie's upcoming content!

A new animation between Stephanie and Luke is currently being developed as part of their story.

The base animation and loop are already taking shape, and we're now working on the final details to make the interaction feel as natural as possible.

❤️ Donna Solo Shot Pack

Donna is getting some time all to herself...

We're producing a new Donna Solo Shot Pack, this time featuring her inside her own bedroom.

✨ Making Good Luke Feel Better

A big focus this week was improving the small details you interact with constantly while playing.

Individually, these changes might seem simple, but together they make the game feel much more polished.

📱 Smartphone Improvements

We made several changes to the smartphone interface.

The apps are being reorganized to make navigation more intuitive, spacing has been improved to make everything cleaner, and buttons have been repositioned to create a more consistent interface.

We also updated some icons so that Save, Load, Menu, and other functions are easier to understand at a glance.

Even the opening and closing sounds of the phone are being refined. Since you'll hear these sounds constantly while playing, we want them to be quick, subtle, and satisfying.

🖼️ Gallery Improvements

The Gallery also received some attention this week.

Navigation has been improved, including moving the back button to a more familiar position in the upper-left corner.

We also fixed notifications appearing when there wasn't actually anything new to see.

And there's more content coming to the computer Gallery: we're adding selected images from some of our previous Shot Packs, including content featuring Jez, Ivy, Eva, Julia, and Shawna.

💾 New Save & Load Screen

The Save & Load interface has been completely redesigned!

The old layout has been replaced by a much cleaner full-screen presentation, with larger save cards, screenshots, dates, and clearer controls.

Quick and Automatic saves are also easier to identify, and previously hidden save slots will now appear correctly.

The goal is to make managing your saves much easier while keeping the screen visually consistent with the rest of Good Luke.

🌅 A New Day Begins...

We've created a brand-new transition for when a new day begins!

Now, when Luke goes to sleep, the game will transition through the night before showing a calendar sequence marking the passage of time.

You'll see the previous day disappear, the new date appear, hear the morning arrive, and then smoothly return to gameplay.

It's a small cinematic touch, but one that gives the passage of time much more personality.

And if you've already seen it enough times? You can skip it with a click.

💻 Luke's Computer

We're continuing to make Luke's computer feel like a real part of the game.

The browser can now be opened from the desktop, revealing a nostalgic pixel-art browser window... except Luke doesn't exactly have internet access yet.

Trying to use it will reveal that his old computer might need a little maintenance before it becomes truly useful.

This is only the beginning of what we have planned for the computer as the story progresses. 👀

🖥️ Computer Gallery

Luke's computer is also getting some actual content!

We've started filling its Gallery with images from Shot Packs previously released on our Patreon.

This gives another purpose to the computer and lets us bring some of our previous content directly into the game world.

🗺️ Map Improvements

The map received another round of visual improvements.

We're updating it with the latest renders and new lighting, while locked locations are now displayed in grayscale so it's much easier to immediately understand where you can and can't go.

We also added a new opening sound that's shorter and more pleasant for something you'll use frequently throughout the game.

🎯 Clearer Missions & Notifications

We're continuing to improve the way the game communicates objectives to you.

Mission notifications now behave more naturally and disappear after you've checked them, while mission hints have been reorganized to make important information easier to read.

We've also standardized messages for content that requires further story progression, avoiding confusing hints or unnecessary spoilers.

Our goal is simple: you should always have a good idea of what you can do next without the interface getting in your way.

🔭 More Interactive Tutorial

We're also making the beginning of the game more interactive.

On Day 2, instead of Luke automatically grabbing the binoculars while you simply watch, the game now guides you toward them.

The binoculars are highlighted and the story waits for you to interact with them before continuing.

It's a simple change, but it helps teach how interactive objects work naturally through gameplay instead of relying only on explanations.

🎭 Main Menu Characters

The main menu is getting more life!

Nancy, Stephanie, Yuki, and Vivian now have additional poses prepared for the character loops displayed on the menu.

We also made the character transitions faster, creating a more dynamic presentation when moving between them.

🔊 Audio Polish

We're paying more attention to the sounds you'll hear hundreds of times throughout the game.

Sounds for opening the phone and map are being refined to be shorter, lighter, and more satisfying, while other interface sounds are also being reviewed as part of our overall polish.

These details may be subtle, but good sound feedback makes navigating the game feel significantly better.

🧹 More Polish & Fixes

We also spent time fixing smaller inconsistencies throughout the game.

Character names, mission hints, notifications, interface text, and other elements are being reviewed so they correctly respect the name chosen by the player.

We're also improving some internal testing tools so our team can find and fix problems faster without those tools getting in the way while testing the actual game.

❤️ Thank You, Goodies!

That's it for this week's Good Luke Progress Update!

This week shows an important side of game development: sometimes progress isn't only about adding another big scene or animation.

It's also about making everything you've already built feel good to play.

The phone, map, gallery, saves, computer, tutorials, notifications, sounds, transitions, and dozens of other details are all part of the experience — and we're giving them the attention they deserve while new content continues being produced in parallel.

Step by step, Good Luke is feeling more and more like the game we've always wanted to build.

Thank you so much for continuing to support us, Goodies!

See you in the next Progress Update! 🎮

I feel like telling us about upcoming game animations in the works is a bit spoiler-y and ruins the surprise of, no pun intended, coming across them by playing the game ... ? ... Also, I don't know about the other languages but I hope any and all new updates drastically fix and improve the English translations.
