*Walks into the bar* Afternoon, everybody!

I thought that it'd be a good idea to give a bit of insight on what's happening under the hood, and what better time to do it when I've barely slept for a few days now! 🫠

So here's what I talk about in this post:

v0.5, WHERE IS IT!?

Yeah, I hear you. I know people are getting annoyed and becoming impatient (rightfully so!), and so am I. Basically, to start off, I wanted to make v0.5 bigger than what v0.4 was, as I had saw a lot of people complaining "Is that it?" when it was released. That sucked, so my goal was to try and make the next update bigger. This went on and on, burnout after burnout, getting myself into a downward spiral of thinking "the longer this takes, the more people will expect, so it HAS to be good." This felt discouraging, and I struggled to find any motivation to continue working on anything for a while.

In the past few weeks, I've been on-and-off of development again, pushing through with trying to get the big stuff out of the way. I wanted to leave it as a surprise at first, but I was aiming to make v0.5 the big v1.0 update instead, as it will be possible to play from night 1 to 7, and everything else would be bonus content.

A HUGE chunk of time has been spent working on night 6. Listen, I like the idea of night 6 in fangames being a bonus night that's just night 5 but more difficult, but I like doing things a little different. Even from the start, I wanted night 6 to be a sort of "showdown" between the player and Spring Bonnie. Think of FNaF 4's night 5, where you're put against only Fredbear. This was a fun idea, but took a lot of figuring out. Turns out, in a FNaF 1 style game, being against only one character was really easy, even if they move really quickly. The solution? Throw someone else into the mix!

If you're in the Discord server, chances are you've seen this image already. What is it, what could it MEAN!?

Golden Foxy was something I wanted to add for a while, but could never figure out how. What I've got so far is very promising, though, and I feel like she'll be an absolute nuisance to the player during night 6...

...not night 4, as those screenshots show. Still some kinks in the system to be worked out, clearly!

In terms of stuff left to do before the update is complete:

• Finish Saturday

  • Animate Golden Foxy's game over sequences

  • Animate SpringBonnie's jumpscare

  • Potential bugfixes

• Finish Sunday (Custom night)

  • This shouldn't take long to do at all as it's just letting the player manually assign difficulty values to the characters before the night plays as normal.

• Fem. Foxy comlpete re-animation

  • I've wanted to do this for a long time. Let's be real, those animations suck. Especially her NSFW scene. What's she even bouncing on? There's nothing there!

  • (by the way, Fem. Foxy will be an unlockable option for after you beat night 6...)

    • ...which doesn't matter if you're playing the Patreon version, as you'll have that unlocked from the start. ☺️

• Make the remaining achievements functional

  • Yeah, achievements.

  • lol

• And a few more things!

THE ANDROID PORT

The android port was something else I wanted to do from the start, but wasn't entirely sure how (or if) it would even work. Keep in mind that when I started making Lefty's, I had very little experience in Clickteam (and SFM).

The game is pretty poorly optimized, I know, and that makes it VERY difficult to port to a mobile device. I did try a while back, but it only seemed to work for some players with higher-end devices. At this point, porting to android is very low on my priorities, and I can't really say for sure if it's a definite thing that's going to happen anymore. It'd be cool to have, but I'm not sure if it's possible.

...especially with these new policies being talked about for Android, where APKs from "unknown developers" are going to be blocked sometime in the future. Really makes you consider if it's even worth trying at all, y'know?

LEFTY'S DELUXE

As of writing, still happening. Just after the main release of the game now. Mainly because working on two versions of the same game becomes a real pain when you do bugfixes in one and forget to do them in the other.

To reiterate, Lefty's Deluxe was a version of the game that I wanted to be specifically for the Ultimate Engineers tier on Patreon. A way of saying thanks for the support. It's a reskin of the main game with a much heavier focus on NSFW elements. Overall, you're still playing the same game, but there's more boob... and new voicelines... and different sex scenes.

THE Q&A

This most likely isn't happening anymore.

It was a fun idea, and there were a LOT of good questions, but we couldn't figure out a good way of answering them. The original idea was animating an entire video, which would have taken forever to do. The second idea was doing it in VRChat instead, recording myself moving around and stuff instead of animating it. As fun as it sounded, we couldn't think of a way to make it entertaining enough.

And, no. I wasn't going to flood my twitter like people usually do with strawpage responses.

Yeah, that. That's something I've been working on a little outside of Lefty's. It's the next project I want to work on once Lefty's is done!

I've wanted to create something using the Fazclaire models for a long while now, but wasn't too sure as other games had already done so already. Seeing the new and updated rearousal ones, however, made me want to jump right back into the plans! Nothing significant has been done so far outside of a few test renders, just to see if things would work... mostly because all of the new models haven't actually been released yet...
