The Update and the Way Forward
First, I would like to thank everyone who has become a Patron. I truly appreciate your support, and as repayment you get my everlasting gratitude. I've decided to commit to developing Mihon full-time.
So, what's the plan moving forward?
Before that, a bit of history: Mihon's codebase is from Tachiyomi, which is now over a decade old (2015). While some parts of the app has been rewritten and updated over the years, the majority of its underlying framework is still based on older code. As a result, any major features would still require the app to undergo extensive rewrites first. Otherwise we'll have a bicycle with rockets attached and having to consistently make sure the rocket doesn't break the bicycle.
Now that I'm working on Mihon full-time, I'll be splitting my time 6:1, with 6 days working on rewriting Mihon from scratch while the 1 day will be on improving the current app version. I'll spend majority of my time working on rewriting Mihon from scratch and spend the remaining time improving the current version. Patrons will receive updates on the development in form of short blogs.
To wrap things up, there are currently no plan to produce merch. I just wanted to gauge if there was any interest.

Tachiyomi was my safe haven. I will never forgive the copycats that brought about its demise. Watching it all crash and burn in real time was devastating. Words cannot express how thankful I am this fork sprung from those dark days, nor how it continues to carry the torch forward.
I sincerely hope user-input is near the core of this app's direction. Otherwise, time will be spent on features people won't like/use and the backlash will be placed on one person, which multiplys fast. Please take care of yourself and also the community, and we'll pay it back tenfold

Are you staying with the android native stack? There are many cool cross platform frameworks around by now and going for something web based -> native wrapper could bring lots of opportunity to increase the userbase

Im sorry but you could split your time to 5:1:1 (5 days of writing Mihon from scratch, 1 day of improving current app version and 1 day of rest to avoid burnout. Also, thank you for all of your hard work!
