Dev Update - 08/04/2026
Hey everyone!
I wanted to give you all a quick update on where development currently stands and what the plan is for the remainder of the year.
I've decided to update the roadmap to showcase what's going on.
As most of you already know, the rework has grown far beyond what I originally anticipated. What started as a visual facelift has turned into a complete remake of the game. Every chapter is being rewritten, every render is being recreated from scratch, scenes are being expanded, choices are being introduced and are becoming more meaningful, and the pacing has been improved throughout.
It's been an enormous amount of work, but I'm genuinely happy with how everything is coming together.
Current Progress
✅ Chapter III - Rework
I'm hard at work on the Chapter III - Rework. I'm currently redoing the gym scene. I'm really trying to showcase as much eye-candy as possible for you guys. Chapter III has quite a lot of scenes and images to go through, but my goal is to have it finished this August.
Next Up: Chapter VII Finale
Before I continue with the remaining reworks, my focus will shift to finishing the Chapter VII Finale.
This is the part I've been looking forward to the most. It wraps up Season 1 and contains some of the biggest story moments so far. I don't want to spoil anything, but expect plenty of reveals, difficult choices, and a conclusion that sets the stage for everything coming in Season 2.
After That...
Once Chapter VII is finished, I'll return to the remaining reworks.
Chapters V and VI will receive the same treatment as the earlier chapters:
Completely remade artwork
Rewritten dialogue
New choices and branching
Expanded character interactions
Additional scenes
Improved pacing
Higher overall production quality
By the time that's finished, the entirety of Season 1 will feel like one cohesive experience instead of several chapters made months apart while I was still learning and improving.
Looking Ahead
My goal is to finish everything shown on the roadmap before the end of the year.
That way, I can release Season 1 on Steam and move onto Season 2.
Thank you all for your incredible patience and support throughout this process. Rebuilding so much of the game has taken longer than I expected, but I truly believe it'll be worth it in the end.
Every month I feel like I'm learning something new, whether that's rendering, writing, animation, or programming, and Shadows of Ambition keeps getting better because of it.
I can't wait to show you what's coming next.

Have you visited the maid cafe? Because Chapter II has that part in it. Someone on Discord said the same thing, but never realized they started Chapter II.
Hi there, love your work! The original game is already good, and the rework is great so far. Making Kate less intolerable (so far) is a good choice imho. I had to laugh in the original game that a kick in the balls can bring Kate into MCs friend group, or that abducting MC at gunpoint and than suggesting to kill him somehow made the MC trust Sarah and Jasper. And in chapter 7 the choice "Kiss Lydia" vs "Hug Lydia" for leaving the MC years earlier without a word seemed odd. I would have taken the 3rd choice "Kick her in the balls". I am really looking forward to how you handle all these in the rework. Plus I was really surprised to hear the phone call between Olivia and Milo, confirming that those 2 were really bad guys. I think one of the strong points of the story was that the MC does not know whom to trust between Olivia, Jaspar, Sarah, Kate and Lydia. The suspense of how you handle all that in the rework is killing me! Oh and will there be more crossover with "My New Girlfriend" by Circle Games? I would LOVE to see that.

I’ll support it a bit. The game’s remake is also coming out well from the author. Then we’ll get new content. Anyway, I wish the author good health and good luck with the game.

Hello, is it normal that i cant get over the sleeping Scene with the blond Girlfriend ? After i got the Website Admin Job in Game of did i Something wrong?
I’m very curious to see how you tie the reworked story line and choices to the current chapter 7. Any plans to change chapter 7 a lil if you have to, to make the story flow or do u think it will naturally arrive to the current chapter 7 smoothly?

Was sceptical when you announced the updates for the existing chapters. Have to admit, the new version of ch. 1 and 2 is much better than the old ones. So waiting to go through the start of the storyline again with the new way you present it and then looking forward to get more of the history our MC is digging into...

Do you think Alice's new character, who is more adventurous and less shy, and the player's choices will lead to scenes that go further and bolder earlier than the original story, or will the rewrite also arrive at the same place at the same time?

Im all for the MC being the main one banging. I never understood why Liam was getting more action in the original.
