March Update!

An update appears! For the second month in a row! Pathetically, it has been a while since that has happened.

This month wasn't amazing, but it was a bit of an improvement given how this year is going so far.

I didn't have the confidence or enthusiasm to work much on my historical costume WIPs, but I did what I could. I also made three blouses, a vest, a skirt, culottes, a dress, and knitted half of two sweaters. Which isn't terrible?

Hopefully April will be more productive on the historical costume front. I will be working on the neglected francaise while watching the new season of bridgerton - which might inspire yet another project. I also have a fluffy fifties easter dress planned, and the materials for a menswear and medieval project.

So as always, I have lots of ideas! Just going to keep my fingers crossed that I have the energy to accomplish some of them!

I hope you all had a good month and I will talk to you in April!

April plans: skirts, i’m obsessed with “cottage-core” style long gathered skirts but I want a few more interestingly patterned ones so I think i’ll finally use some of my stash 😅

My really only April plans are to make my mom a new dress for Derby day. I should get started on it tonight.

'tis the season for me to start sewing for this years Ren Faires. My favorite! Although I'm keeping things fairly realistic so far this year, you've really inspired me to try a bunch of more renaissance inspired, but very sequined and outrageous, costumes. I think they'd be so pretty!!! And those shoes...they are so, so cute. I just love the unicorns and bunnies. Here's to your health continuing to improve through the year - I'm glad there's improvement this month even though it isn't as drastic as you'd hoped.

Love the new hair. I like both bridgerton ideas but i prefer the white fabric. Knitting videos and knitting hauls sounds great video idea too :)

Do the wedding dress! Who cares about the colour scheme of the season ... AS an avid knitter myself I would love to see a yarn haul. Yarn is just wholesome, so nice to look at and soooft. I am really looking forward to your expansion to knitting content 💖

Oh my God yes please do a yarn haul! It's my speciality and although your videos have helped me delve into the world of dressmaking, I'll always be a knitter at heart.

I just finished an emerald green poly-taffeta 1895 bodice and skirt. I’ve never made anything like it and most likely won’t again but it was challenging to make something out of my comfort zone. I’m now working on a costume for my nine year old niece to wear to the renaissance faire next month. It’s from Simplicity and it’s inspired by Kristen Stewart’s costume in “Snow White and the Huntsman”.

Loving these projects! And I agree with the wedding dress comments. Where did you get that ruler print fabric? So cute!

I love all of this!!! We're here for shortform content if that's what your heart desires. :) sometimes we all need a win. I basically took february off then March was idea month and now I'm almost done with a self drafted 40s style sailor tie collar dress (I've never done it before but watching your videos has given me a lot more confidence). I'm also making a sundress and a full playsuit out of fabric for our local minor league baseball team! And an outfit for the dog since I have 12 yes at $1.25/yd😁 Might as well live life boldly bc it's more interesting that way and I know no one else will have a dress like mine.

You should totally do the wedding dress for your Bridgerton-inspired dress! Don’t want to give any spoilers, but there is a white wedding dress this season (maybe more than one? I haven’t finished season 2 yet) that has lots of screen time. And I felt like the palette was actually pretty super pastel-y this season! Can’t wait to see what you come up with for that project and for the unicorn fabric. Oh, and the bunny shoes (omg, those are so adorable!) project!!!

I was going to comment something similar! I think the wedding gown idea is VERY appropriate, but I don't want to spoil anything!

Oh my Goddesses The Squirrel outfit! The wool has a barkish looking texture to me. It’s going to be spectacular!
