Monthly Update! | January & February (...among others)
Here is a LONG overdue update! My mental health and planning skills have both been atrocious for the last little while, which lead to me procrastinating filming these for months.
So in this video I briefly cover what I got up to in October, November, and December, and then go more in depth about the projects I started in 2022. Those projects include a ruffly 1880s gown, a Ms. Frizzle inspired dress, and a few blouses from both vintage and reproduction patterns.
I plan on focusing on the ruffly 1880s dress in March, along with resuming progress on the green Robe a la Fancaise (which you might remember from my last update, so long ago...). I have some tentative plans for something medieval, and plans for some 50s knitwear!
So stay tuned for that, and thank you SO much for the support. It really means a lot, especially after last month when I was so down. I really do appreciate it more than I can say!

Apathy is a feeling I know all too well…. I would love to see knitting content!! I crochet for my mental health and used to knit as a child. Your videos always inspire me so maybe I would pick up the needles again! I’m working on a granny square cardigan for my sister. It will be my first foray into adult crochet clothing and it’s the first time doing the classic granny stitch. Wishing you well. Xx
Oh, acid reflux. You know some people die because the awful pain they are having they assume is reflux since the pains are basically the same. You did the right thing. I suffer from reflux myself and it’s hellish
I’m a knitter. I’d love those videos
I had a pair of Hudson Pants cut out at the beginning of November. Then I had urgent surgery, ended up with an infected wound yada yada. I am now at the point of putting the waistband on. It’s taken me months and I have made every mistake possible and a few I thought impossible. My sewjo is nojo. Apathy is so hard. People can’t see it b can it it sucks the life. I hope your adjustment in medication helps. Best wishes
Yes to the kniiting and yes to acccessory inspired outfits. The dress with hand painted dogs is adorable :)
SHOES!!!! Those shoes!!! OH my goodness, they are too cute! Please do some dresses/outfits to match them! I absolutely LOVED the dress with the puppies, bones and tennis balls! Your creativity is just so inspiring! Thank you! Thank you for being you.
1. Yes knitting content pls 2. OMG the Ms.Frizzle dress is so cute 3. These last 2 years have been a massive drain on everyone. I fully feel what you’re going through with apathy and feeling just kind of lost in a sea of meh. So happy to hear you’ve been feeling a little better but also want to say i’m proud of you for realizing that you needed time and taking it for yourself. Be gentle with yourself because this world is A LOT right now and just know that you have a huge group of supporters who will stick with you as much as we need you to stick with us ❤️
The thumbnail alone made me gasp, but holyy cow you always amaze with your beautiful creationa. We want you to be safe and happy. Besides, I love binging your old videos because I've absorbed so much over the years that as I'm progressing I realized I do know how to do that because you showed us! Be well 🧡🧡
With regards to your potential gall bladder issues. Mine became an issue after I’d been on a low fat diet for a while and then had a cheat meal. My body freaked out because of the fat, shouted to the gall bladder to do its thing and because it had been under utilised for so long stones had formed and I was in the most excruciating pain I’ve ever experienced ( I’ve had two children with no pain meds for reference) if you have enough energy to pursue it I’d try and get an ultrasound of your gall bladder to at least definitely rule it out as if it is stones you will keep having attacks. I hope that your mood continues to improve and you can maintain your motivation. It’s always a delight to have content from you but I’d much rather you were well and happy. ❤️
Knitting adventures would be an awesome video/s!
We are here for you and want only the best for you. Baby steps to heal. Please don't push/rush yourself. Would love knitting videos. I'm impressed with your samplers - those lace patterns are not easy. Well done! Have to say that your shoes are adorable. How cool!! And I love the idea of making an outfit based off an accessory - that's a brilliant idea! Just means more shopping/meeting-up-with-friends trips to NY so that you can wear your creations. 🙃 Sending healing vibes and best wishes from Down Under ❤️❤️💐🇦🇺😎
I am really sorry to hear about your mental health. I always wanted to sew stuff for myself and your YouTube channel inspired me to at least give it a try, and it's been so fulfilling and such a gift. You've inspired me so much it just seems so unfair that your health is taking yours away. I hope you get your mojo back! You deserve it more than anyone.
I'm so sorry about how you've been feeling - but I totally understand! Take care of yourself, and everything will work itself out. Hang in there! We'll be here! (And I'm totally on board with knitting videos - I knit too!)
Ah, the dreaded “not happy, not sad, just nothing” that some head meds give us (Wellbutrin, I’m looking at you…). I do see where you had pockets of joy where you were creating fun things on your own terms, so all was not lost! Good to see and hear you again!
Don’t worry about anyrhing except getting better. January was AWFUL !! I’m not ordinary struggle with mental health but i was during january . I am so drained from pandemic, war… what a hard world we are facing of !
