A Fabric Haul (to help me resist the temptation of sales)
Hello everyone! This is a long overdue fabric haul of materials I've been collecting since September. As per usual, some were bought with projects in mind, some were just pretty. They came from various places online, as well as the garment district which I visited for the first time in YEARS!
My finally getting around to filming this was motivated by the very tempting sales going on at seemingly every fabric retailer this weekend.
(For those unfamiliar, the day/week following Thanksgiving is a major time for sales in the US. Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, etc.)
I'm desperately trying to remind myself that I don't need more fabric, even if it is on sale. It is kind of working. And perhaps this can serve as a reminder for some of you too, if you need one...or just motivate you to buy more fabric. Either way, I hope you enjoy!
I'll try to go more in depth about the fabrics that do correspond with projects in my next monthly update, which should be up tomorrow!
It hasn't been as productive as I would have liked between investing too many hours into a project I despised...and sticking my hand in the middle of a dog fight, resulting in a week of nonstop nausea from antibiotics. (1/10 do not recommend doing that, it was dumb, but both me and the pups are fine!)

i love watching your hauls so much!!!!! I was even more excited to receive my patreon rewards!! I might of cried a little when i got home and recognised the Unicorn on the corner!! My husband and children thought something was very wrong! lol. The shots are absolutely gorgeous and i cant wait for the next ones.

That red wool is amazing. Can't wait to see the jacket that comes from that piece! I was surprised at the silk from Fabric Mart. I've been a little disappointed by their fabrics in the past, so maybe it's time to try them again? The trims were fantastic and I could see immediately why you couldn't resist them. I am on a buying diet now as I have enough in my stash for a complete summer wardrobe and that has to be completed before I buy any more. Also, we are probably moving within the next few months so I don't need to be adding to the stuff we will be moving. Thanks for the update and I hope you are on the mend very soon!
I purchased 24 yards of snuggle flannel with Yeti all over. In my defense it’s for family Christmas jammies and everyone is adult. 😂🤣😂
Oh I love all of these and look forward to see what exciting costumes you make from them. I've been really good in not buying fabrics of late (read maybe 4 months) but I could not resist a amber/copper coloured embroidered cotton that was on sale. We're going into summer here so am thinking of making a pair of culottes and a short sleeved summer top to match. I've browsed fabric mart (and Silk Baron and Mood...) and there some gorgeous fabric at reasonable prices (compared to here) but the shipping is the deal breaker. Silk here is being charged at around AUS$60/metre - out of my price range. That's the trouble living so far from anywhere. Hope your injuries have healed and your fur babies are being good. Thanks for the tip for the border print from Fabric Mart. I ordered some of both the pink and the navy as well as a neat sequin fabric. I've been in person before, amazing place!
I was gonna be done buying fabric, but then i went on fabric Mart anyway.... I think i might be about to buy kimono quantities of ditsy floral challis and sateen.
I can't tell you how many times I have accidentally had my hand caught in the middle of dog fight! Luckily my dogs are small (Chihuahua and Yorkie) so the wounds are only slight, although they have still left scarring. Definitely not conducive to sewing.
I love wool and silk. I would die if I ever got to go to the fabric district. I just have to content myself with the lovely, floofy, sparkly fabrics i have acquired to make my nieces princess dresses
You should make some sort of sparkly pink winter/sugar plum fairy inspired costume with those trims! ;) and I love the fabrics for the hunting costume, those will look great together!
