College of Mysteria 0.14 Progress Update.
So we've finally started work on making our own character loras. it's not an exact science, it's time consuming and takes a decent amount of iteration. But we're a whole lot closer to getting something more consistant now.
The new loras, we will be able to go back and rapidly update older content when we get time, but not for this update. The focus now is on the actual update. Which will include a scene with Monique, Cindy and Eustice.
Last update was particularly plot heavy, far more so than previous updates. Now that the setting has been properly shaken up and world has been turned upside down. Will and Cindy can focus on the important things. Figuring out how to ruin or enhance as many couples lives and possible.
Since moving to the new model We had issue with skintone among other things, particularly with the vampire girls. The entire model just leaned towards tanned and olive skin tones. There really was no way around it other than making our own lora.
Which leads us to our next point, the style. We're much closer now to the style I'm looking for. My idea is semi realistic proportions with slight western style. So expect the particularly anime looking renders to get updated. The biggest issue I had with the older style, was the big head, it was basically a realistic face, painted onto a giant anime head. Maybe not so obvious, until you need to animate it.
Gwen imo is looking much more like she used to. This isn't exactly how Elise has ever looked, but it's really how Elise would look. Basically a younger version of her mother. She might be a little "Milfy" here. But these are just quick teaser images.
There was a little tease for Audrey last update, she will get a scene this update. She too needs attention. The update is still early as it gets fleshed out I'll have more details.
One last thing, not semi not related to the game but related to developement. Unfortunately the average AI/crypto bro has figured out about renting graphics cards like which is starting to cause a shortage. This is what I use to make animations and recently make loras. If a virtual graphics card shortage becomes a thing, it might be a problem. There is a shortage right now, Hopefully it resolves. But realistically, it won't.

honestly, why did you change the art style so much? characters were looking way better in early chapters - cindy especially doesnt look good anymore

The aim is around 2 months after last release. So ideally in under 3 weeks from now.
quick question when is cindy gonna visit the dorm master office...or is it not in the plan?
There will likely be something in the future, hard to say when. There are scenes I have in mind that may involve returning to the boys dorms.
Looks good apart from Cindy to me. On the pictures there i think she looks too masculine.
Could be the jawline/chin combination in the images give that effect? From my limited experience with AI models I could sometimes get that with my own images with certain character traits such as prominent cheekbones(which Cindy has) and those with more Heart shaped faces. Both of those seemed to lend to 'defined jawlines' which sometimes gave a masculine look as the distance between mouth and chin increased.

Looking good, already waiting for the update. And I'm so glad I managed to build a PC 2 years ago. Because it won't be upgraded for a long time, it seems.
Yeah, I've fortunately kept ahead of the curve with most of this stuff by nature of what I do. I remember seeing value in needing 100gb + of ddr5 ram, bought some on the spot, 2 weeks later the value of the same ram had quadrupled. Still uncertain if I should have bought a 5090 a year ago when it was 50% cheaper. If virtual cards become impossible I probably should have.
