Devlog #2- Overcoming Writer’s Block
Hello, I’m back again with a devlog and I’ve got a mix of things since last time for ya'll. Despite some personal things, I managed to keep working on this unhinged first draft of Day 3 and dabble in some silly side projects. Let’s get into it!
Writing
I feel like I’ve just stopped resisting a lot of writing insecurity and just- wrote. And kept writing and not worrying about it for now. Anticlimactic writer’s block advice, I know, but it is what it is. I’m cringe, but I’m FREE! I’ve been making good progress and gathering lots of research I will need for the next day (winter survival related things). I’m quite rusty and it’s been a while since I’ve lived out in the snowy cabin…The branching choices and/or accounting for different MC’s slows down the writing process a lot, adding a lot of possibly unseen content, but it’ll be so satisfying in the end in terms of roleplaying. So, I press on.
(This is how I feel constantly about writing. Apprehensive. Scared lol.)
Art
Other than that, whenever I need a break from writing, I do little art side quests. I’ve been messing around with my new printer, specifically with vinyl sticker and glossy paper. Here is some of my bounty!

Annnnd I made some banners for the patreon tiers! I’m really enjoying this etching and cross hatching styling. The knight turned out to be my favorite and the 3rd tier turned out scarier than I intended. Oops.
Then, here’s my lovely partner being a good sport about wearing heavy winter gear and a hunting rifle in the middle of the house in hot, muggy Florida for reference pictures. Just a lil sneak peak of potential Jim poses haha.
Personal
I’ve been a bit depressed, which isn’t unusual lol, but mostly in a low, dark mood. My partner just left for work for a few months and my pup, the husky, just got spayed. So, the house has been turned into somewhat of an anxious, lonesome shack. Perfect for getting into Jim’s lonely headspace! I had a couple social calls to make, which always saps away a lot of my energy. Luckily, I still manage to stay “productive” even when my mood is low. I just do things with the sad face in my comic lol. But I’m mostly over it and well rested! I’m thankful my dogs give me a reason to go outside haha.

Hi Remina! I saw you seem to be okay with answering questions regarding Chilling Devotion (from ruru-berry) so i thought itd be okay to ask as well...! Does Jim know the basic idea of sex? Is his idea of it mostly in the scientific side of things, or erotic aspects? (scientific textbooks or basic learning material, or porn magazines possibly?) or is he completely alien to it?
Hello, I'm okay with people asking. I just can't really answer too much since CD is in development. In regards to sex, he has a naive and immature understanding of it compared to our modern concepts. He clearly knows about masturbation lol although he would resist succumbing to his urges. He knows of sex from basic education, his upbringing, and in the context of animal behavior. Any ideas of romanticism would be from his limited, old literature collection!

How you write your story especially the dialogue shows how much thought you put in your work. You can really feel the atmosphere of the game, that’s why it’s my favorite visual novels. It’s nice how vocal you are in having to share your struggles with us, it feels relatable. Can’t wait for more of chilling devotion and future projects you have in store for us. Also, sick armor designs :D
Really love these updates, it's always exciting to see the notification for your patreon :D. The banners for the tiers look super rad, and tackling your own writing/drafts is daunting but it's good to hear you're pushing through!

It's really motivating to see you be able to create along side the hard things happening in your life, certainly everyone can relate on some level, but your transparent attitude about how and why things take time is really cool.
