Whether your spellcaster is an aspiring sage, a kitchen witch, or simply curious about the arcane, these mystical items are designed to inspire wonder and transformation.

• Glimmerbrook's Grimoire: This tome is rumored to have belonged to the mythical Grand Sage of Glimmerbrook, a spellcaster said to wield all three schools of magic in harmony. No one knows if the Grand Sage truly existed, but one thing is certain: The spells inside... feel ancient and powerful.

• Pedestal of the Forgotten Sage: Every legendary spellbook deserves a place of honor—and none more so than this lectern, said to be crafted from elements of the Magic Realm itself. Whispered to amplify the aura of the tome it cradles, this stand doesn’t just hold knowledge—it reveres it. Place your grimoire atop, and let the air grow heavy with possibility.

Become a Spellcaster

The spellbook provides a new way for you Sims to become Spellcasters. Curious Sims can investigate the tome and accept it’s magic if they choose.

Study Magical Disciplines

Via the interaction Study Magical Disciplines you can choose which magical discipline to study:

• Study Untamed Magic: Increase Spellcaster experience and learn new untamed spells.

• Study Practical Magic: Increase Spellcaster experience and learn new practical spells.

• Study Mischief Magic: Increase Spellcaster experience and learn new mischief spells.

• Study Alchemy: Increase Spellcaster experience and learn new potion recipies.

The base rate for gaining Spellcaster experience through these interactions is 0.25. You can increase the amount of experience you gain through unlocking the Knowledge is Power (+0.25) and Insightful Eye (+0.5) perks.

• Study Gemology: Increase your Gemology skill.

• Study Séance Theory: Increase Medium skill.

• Study Apothecary Cures: Increase Apothecary Skill.

The base rate for gaining skills through these interactions is StandardPeriodic. You can increase the amount of skill you gain through unlocking the Insightful Eye (+SmallPeriodic) perk.

If you unlock the Knowledge is Power perk, you will additionally gain a small amount of Spellcaster experience (0.1) when studying Gemology or Séance Theory.

Read Enchanted Texts

Via the interaction Read Enchanted Texts you can gain various buffs:

• Translate Ancient Runes: Gain a +1 Focused buff that lasts 4 hours.

• Browse Trickster’s Codex: Gain a +1 Playful buff that lasts 4 hours.

• Peruse Ancestral Triumphs: Gain a +1 Inspired buff that lasts 4 hours.

• Review Offensive Spell Sequence: Gain a +1 Confident buff that lasts 4 hours.

Installation

The spellbook requires two files:

• [dennerian] Spellcaster_spellbook_interactions_core.package

• [dennerian] Spellbook_glimmerbrooks_grimoire.packages

The first file contains the core logic of how the spellbook works. The second file is the spellbook object. I'm planning to make other version of the spellbook in the future, and this way I can keep the logic of how the spellbooks work in a single file.
