Patreon-only content is coming!
So I want to at least once a month release a video to the patrons only... but I was hoping for some feedback before I decide exactly what kind of content it ought to be.
My initial idea was to release a video based on specific events and incidents in urban planning and urban life -- i.e. things like the fight against the Lower Manhattan Expressway, the demolition and evacuation of Logan Triangle in Philadelphia, the destruction of Black Wall Street in Tulsa, and hopefully stuff suggested by the patreons as long as the visualizations can be done in a meaningful way in Cities: Skylines.
(They're just going to be unlisted videos, so you can pirate them if you don't have a dollar, but I'd like the dollar if you can manage it.)
So uh, I suppose the question is, is this the kind of content you crave? What kind of events would you want to see explained through Cities: Skylines?

Trolleycars, and why they're almost completely gone from the North American cityscape
Maybe some alternative history stuff? We have a historical event that resulted into cities looking like this. How would they have looked like if other decisions and policies were made?
Ooh, I like this!
I would be 100% on board for a series on events in Urban Planning history. Vienna - specifically the Red Vienna period - would be fascinating to see covered (although it might be somewhat difficult to depict in Skylines). They still have rent control after it was established at the end of WWI and survived all this time! And I'd be on board with letting it go out to the public.
I am actually here just to buy you beer, but if you insist I think this is a pretty good idea for videos. I second what bsquiklehausen said and encourage you to consider a delayed public release. I'll also second James' suggestion for a video about the history of Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Specific events would be great, the example event - destruction of Black Wall Street in Tulsa - is something I have an interest in.
Exclusive Lets Plays of you building with cam requests.
Do a writeup on Robert Moses. Everyone needs to remember and revile him for what he believed in.
I don't support people on Patreon for 'exclusive' content, just to help out people making cool shit. Getting videos a few days early is as much of a perk as i really want.
Absolutely! I think an inverse PP&P (focus on real life places and specific events rather than broad planning trends) would be great. May I even suggest publicly releasing these, but maybe with a longer wait between Patron release and public? It'll be great content that should be shared.
