🌍Political World Mod Update – Self-Discovery, Political Compatibility & Intensity 🎉
Hey guys!
So this week I originally set out to just build a small Self Discovery system for the Political World mod.. But then I got a little too carried away and somehow ended up building three new features and cheat options😅
Here’s what’s new in this version:
🧭 Self-Discovery System(New Add-On Module)
This system allows Sims to gradually change their political beliefs over time, based on in-game behaviour and social influences. If a Sim avoids political interactions for too long, they may even get a prompt to consider switching to an Apolitical stance.
This feature is tied to EA’s Self Discovery game option, so you can toggle it off in the game settings or simply remove the module from your Mods folder if you prefer not to use it.
🧠 Political Intensity System
This update is a community requested feature!😊 Sims now have varying levels of political engagement. Some may be totally disinterested in politics, while others feel very strongly about their beliefs. This system adds a new layer of realism and affects how Sims respond to political topics.
There are three intensity levels, which are automatically assigned to all Sims (including NPCs).
If you want to customize a Sim’s intensity, you can do so anytime from the Political World menu.
💘 Political Compatibility System
Sims will now connect or clash based on how aligned their political views are.
While Sims with similar political traits may get along better, the system also recognizes nuance for example, two Sims from different ideologies can still have overlapping compatibility depending on where they fall on the political compass.
If you don’t want this system in your game, there’s an easy toggle in the Cheat Menu to disable it. Your preference will be saved in a .cfg file in the Political World folder. ( I may use this system more going forward to let players opt in/out of features without needing to delete modules)
The political compatibility between two sims will come up show in the UI on the sims relationship profile.
🛠️ Cheat Options Added
Another community requested feature!😊You now have access to a cheat menu with helpful options for testing or storytelling.(Right click to sim to show options). Available cheats include:
Add or Remove Illuminati Trait
Remove Cancel Culture buff from a Sim
Max out Political Influence skill
Change Political Compatibility between Sims
Duplicate Guru fix.
I haven’t worked on the bigger update this week (elections, active career, etc.), but I hope you enjoy this smallish biggish update while I get back on track!

I just added and i select a political affiliation trait for the character, but as part of her work for level 1 it is not registering that i have chosen one. I tried to find anything on how to fix, but nothing.

Is there any chance more ideologies would be added in the future (anarchism, postmodernism, materialism, neoliberal capitalism, etc), perhaps as sub-traits or not trait locked to add more nuance to sim beliefs? And perhaps traits for individual hostility towards certain ideologies (ie. Dislike of Progressives, Dislike of Nationalists) that are not trait-locked? Because for example there's major conflicts between socialism and liberalism even if they are both left wing, etc.

True ! I will amend the preferences to not be restricted to the political spectrum and be per trait. In regards to different ideologies I didnt have any plans to add any more currently but I can definitely scope out adding some more.. there are honestly way to many ideologies 🤣 I tried to choose ideologies based on their position on the political spectrum (left, right, centrists) Are there any particular ideologies that you would like to see added in ?

I can't find the comment from last time but lots of trumps keep populating lol I just delete them but you said to send a log it was mccc right? Do I just send one of one of the trumps? Which log would you want all the sims details, population log etc? I can also use lumpinou's mod to send a log as well but that covers traits, buffs, and interactions.

How weird..is it only trumps? And not any other guru? It you click the cheat menu you can click 'duplicate guru fix'
