1985 CART PPG IndyCar World Series mod, ported from an rFactor 1 mod.
Physics were taken from BD Designs 1988 CART mod.

I was so fortunate to personally attend the 1997-98 CART season live at the legendary Road America. I live in Wisconsin. It's one of the greatest tracks of all time as well. I can still recall vividly the different sound of that Mercedes "cheater" pushrod engine echo in the vast Kettle Moraine valley. Priceless. Forgive me for not searching further on all of your great work. At least I put the idea of porting CART Factor in your head for a possibility. Thanks for entertaining the thought. Would be sumpthin else, wouldn't it.... Thanks for the recommendations as well. I do have the older VRC stuff somewhere I need to dig up. Just built a new PC. I'm a senior and it may be my last build. IMHO, RF2 has a better tire model and way better FFB on the CART stuff. If RF2 had a CSP type thing to make it look prettier and enable extra features it would be better than an AC port. CART Factor 2 in VR is my favorite send it mod.

My favorite racing series of all time. 1997-98 CART was at it's peak. Several engine, chassis and even tire choices. If you could port CART Factor from RFactor 2 to AC and add some CSP stuff it would be mod of the year 2026 and I will write you a handsome check as thanks to a joyous holiday season. I'm glad you enjoyed the 1985 CART mod. 1997-1998 was certainly one of the greatest in American Open Wheel history, period. I would like to notify you on some mods that already exist, SDD does have a 1998 and 1995 mod, which combined can make for a 1997 grid. And VRC has a very good mod for the 1999 car which has skins for 1997 and 1998. However if it's specifically the 1997-98 CART on rFactor2 you are after, there may be something I can do for you. I ported this 1985 mod without owning the game, and making use of free tools, I suspect the same can be done for an rFactor2 mod but I can't say I'm certain. It mostly depends on if it's possible to extract the models and skins. Currently I am quite busy with plans for a bunch of NASCAR mods and even bringing early 2000s IRL to AC. After Christmas I would be happy to do the 1998-97 CART mod, I'll even add all the bells and whistles using CSP technology.
