It’s with an extremely heavy heart that I bring some not-so-great news today… 😔
When I set the original release date, I knew it would be challenging but still achievable. Unfortunately, I ran into unexpected technical setbacks and had to rework the entire code for the texting mechanic (which, by the way, will become increasingly important to the story from now on). While ironing things out, I lost some precious time within an already tight schedule.
I really hate doing this, but yes, there’s going to be a delay. But please don't panic! 😅 It’s not a month—not even a week—just 3 days. The new official release date is now set for June 25 (EST).
Please believe me when I say I did EVERYTHING in my power to avoid missing this deadline. There wasn’t a single day this week where I worked less than 12 hours straight on this, but sometimes these things happen. I genuinely hope you all understand! 🙏🏻
On the bright side, I'm really excited about this update! The story is picking up momentum, and we’re finally diving into some real action! 🔥 The overall quality has improved too—as always, my goal is to deliver even better content with each new update.

Thing is, you promised "Unless something catastrophic happens, Update 0.5 will be released on June 22 ". "Technical setbacks" are not catastrophic; they are just part of normal development work on any piece of software - and I know because I've been writing software for over 5 decades. And it's not as though renpy is an immature environment to work in. So please, when you set a release date, factor in the likelihood that you'll have some delays. It means you then get the chance to possibly release an update a few days earlier, and that would be greeted with appreciation by all your fans. Contrast that with the disappointment that missed deadlines cause.
Yeah, you've been writing software for over 50 years, and I have for less than 8 months (if you can even call RenPy an experience in writing software), so you'll excuse me if I still cannot accurately predict some of these setbacks that are so trivial to someone like you... I'll take what you said as constructive criticism, so thank you.
