Some people can be a salesman, others can't. It takes talent to get a place at the big table.
I don't think fuck herself to the top is going to work with Stevens. Either she sells or she goes nowhere. She proved she can pitch artifacts in that session with Victor. I imagine that will pay off for her in Paris and gets her a place at the big table. Stevens needs sales talent right now. He wants better performance from his company. He can get secretaries for a dime a dozen. And Victor didn't get to be head of sales by not being able to spot sales talent, even if he is a jerk.
