Regarding Oppaiman.

After what Steam did to our project, a lot of people have been suggesting this platform. I've heard mixed feedback — some highly recommend it, while others warn against it. Honestly, given the current situation, I don’t have many options left, so I’m keeping it in mind.

That said, according to their rules:

“You must have at least 300 paid patrons on Patreon.”

It’s a realistic number to reach, and we do have some time to think it over.

If you’ve had any experience with that platform — good or bad — feel free to share. Should we consider posting the game there, or better not?

Patreon».
Это вполне достижимая цифра, и у нас как раз есть время всё обдумать.

Если у вас есть опыт с этой платформой — положительный или отрицательный — напишите. Как думаете, стоит туда загружать игру или лучше не связываться?

If you just want a place to promote the game... f95zone.com is the place where I find almost all of these. Most people just post 1 or 2 versions behind current one.

The big issue Patreon is that it is hard to find anything "new" on Patreon unless you specifically know the title/creator from other sources. I play a heavy moddes Skyrim, alot of mod authors moved from the Nexus to Patreon and unless you know or go through the comments section and find that they moved, the authors and their mods basically disappeared. Another issue is you very often have to pay first to see if their creations are worth it. In mods cases I would release a basic outfit on a site like Nexus. Then if people like it they can subscribe and get the full deal, multiple textures, matching weapons etc I think you need to find a similar way to expose yourself to a larger crowd with a free sample, this could be a short story with the same characters, 1 hour playtime at most to give players a taste of the story and your render style. Then when they like it they can get the full version by subscribing to your Patreon. I think Itchio is a good site to release something short so people can more easily find your work and get a taste for it.

I'd say there would be a market for single pay. Patreon puts many off because, with them, you end up paying a lot more for a game over time . It is true, I have heard from other dev's that Steam is a pain, sometimes taking months to decide. Also, as a Steam customer, unless you know the title of the game you are looking for, mostly what you get from Steam is their recommendations, which I assume is paid advertising. As a player, I left oppai games because he tends to start new projects before finishing old ones, and his games aren't that good anyway imo.

Is this Patreon new? I mean, Novel has two previous games, did those games have another Patreon or was it this one? The 300 subscriber rule must be new to filter content. I remember when they first started, they accepted any project that they thought had good visual quality, regardless of its status. I think the site increases advertising on the games but doesn't sell them, so you have to have your Patreon account linked and be of the right tier to be able to download from Oppaiman. There are creators who have found this helpful and others who have been disappointed, because in the first two months on Oppaiman the subscribers usually doubled or tripled, but then dropped off and stayed with at most 10% more subscribers than the original amount. Just in case, read the site's terms and conditions 👍.

I’ve read them — and they don’t exactly inspire confidence 😄 As for Patreon, I’ve only ever had one.

Itcho possibly. Patreon is readily available

Oppai seems to have a deal with Patreon, as most of the games I have thought about buying take you to the Patreon page for that game. I haven't seen one which is a straight purchase option. It almost seems like they are in the midst of launching their own hosting platform, ala Steam from years ago, but haven't reached the critical mass with games from other developers to make it self-sustaining.

My questionable thing is why am I seeing so many duplicate posts of the same game? I'm not to sure about that.

If you're referring to my posts — I always communicate a lot with my followers. Many people appreciate that. You may not like it, and that's your right. But I also have the right to choose how I interact with my audience — I'm sure you can agree with that.

I mostly use it and I have no complaints. They make it easy to find new developer and projects. They also constantly update the platform to make it easier for the users and I would assume developers as well.

I’d stay away. They demand too much of your personal information, even to download “Free” games.

Well, it confuses me too.
