Did you know the game's code contains references to physique-change moodlets that were planned, then cut before release?

Prior to release, there was discussion and several articles written about Sims reacting to changes in their weight and fitness. Early developer comments suggested this was something the game might explore, before the idea was ultimately walked back.

Most of the moodlets themselves were removed, and their associated text were pulled from the game files along with them. Only Feelin’ Fit (the moodlet your Sims receive when they've gained muscle) made it into the final game.

This mod restores the missing moodlets, with new text written to match the game’s tone while remaining respectful.

How It Works

When a Sim’s physique noticeably changes, they will now receive one of the following moodlets:

  • Losing muscle → Out of Shape (Embarrassed)

  • Losing weight → Lookin’ Lean (Confident)

  • Gaining weight → More to Love (Confident) for Sims with High Self-Esteem (Growing Together) or traits like Self-Assured, Glutton, Wise, or Arrogant (Kuttoe)

  • Gaining weight → Packing It On (Embarrassed) made especially for Sims with Fear of Being Judged, Low Self-Esteem, or traits like Insecure (Kuttoe)

  • Gaining weight → Packing It On (Sad) for Sims with the Gloomy trait

  • Gaining muscle → Feelin’ Fit (Confident)

All moodlets last for one Sim day, increased from the original four hours. They will be removed early if a Sim works to reverse the changes.

Hi, would it be possible to use this together with Custom Moods For Some Game Moodlets by Lumpinou? That one also changes Buff_GotFit...

You could just put Lumpinou's mod in an override/priority folder. All my mod does is increase the duration of that specific buff.

Hi! This mod is so nice and essential! And um I am curious about one thing-Once sims get muscles they never loose it. Does this mod make muscle shrink when sims stop exercising hardly enough?

You would want to use roBurky’s fitness control mod for that

I like the idea of this though, it is hard to track fitness gains or losses in game without entering CAS

I'll try testing this with Khlas Male Interactions, it's the only mod I use which might conflict?

would you consider a version of this mod that only affects sims that do have the relevant traits? if the majority of sims have frequent negative connotations about their weight it doesn't set a good tone, which is likely why the feature orignally got cut. either way, thanks for bringing the feature back, your mods always make gameplay so much more interesting. (:

That's actually the main reason it was cut, yeah. The moodlets are designed to fire pretty infrequently though, and weight gain/loss is pretty rare in an unmodded game. That said, if you choose to download it and find it's firing more than expected after playing with it for a while, let me know!
