Ship Da Papers Off is a full marriage, counseling, separation, and divorce gameplay mod. You can try to save the marriage, separate first, lawyer up, fight over money and custody, settle privately, go to mediation, take it to court, or end the marriage completely.

UPDATE 10/14/26

• Fixed the shared-child picker when filing for divorce.

• Selected children now carry over into custody. Removing a child from the custody list stays saved.

• Fixed child support counts and incorrect overdue balances.

• Fixed payment waivers and custody exchanges reporting success when they hadn’t completed.

• Added protection for saved case information when a save fails.

Delete the old mod files before installing this update. Keep your saved case-data folder.

SHIP DA PAPERS OFF UPDATE 9/16/26

I also went back into Ship Da Papers Off and cleaned up several issues y’all reported.

This update includes:

• Serve Spouse Immediately has been added
• You no longer have to wait forever just to move the filing forward
• The Marriage & Legal Portal now properly opens from the computer
• Computer access was fixed
• Financial Disclosure Step 9 has been fixed and now completes
• Divorce cases properly move into the respondent response stage after service
• Menus now say SHIP DA PAPERS OFF
All of the existing systems are still there too, including custody, attorneys, counseling, mediation, support, property, cohabiting divorce, court and financial gameplay.

I went back through the problem areas before preparing this update.

Please DELETE THE OLD VERSION before installing this update.

HOW TO START

Click your Sim’s PHONE

STAY OR GO / Ship Da Papers Off

You can start with Marriage Status & Crisis if you want to play through the relationship first.

If you want counseling, go to:

Counseling Center → Ask Spouse to Try Counseling

Your spouse does not have to agree. A refusal is part of the gameplay.

If they agree, choose your concerns, counselor, appointment type, location, date, and time.

If the marriage is over, choose:

Start Divorce Filing

Complete the petition and follow the case from there.

Once a divorce case is active, use the Divorce Case Center for your next legal step.

ATTORNEYS

Once you retain an attorney, open:

Divorce Case Center → My Attorney & Firm Portal

That’s where you can message your attorney, choose strategy, decide how hard you want to fight, share evidence, tell your attorney private information, request documents, read firm emails, and check legal fees.

Each spouse has their own attorney information and private records.

CUSTODY

Custody requires shared minor children to be included in the divorce case.

Go to:

Divorce Case Center → Negotiation, Money & Parenting → Custody & Parenting

Set legal custody, physical custody, parenting schedule, starting parent, and exchange time.

Once the schedule is active, the selected children can actually transfer between the parents’ households when parenting time changes.

DIVORCING WHILE LIVING TOGETHER

If both spouses are still in the same household during the divorce, the mod opens cohabiting-divorce gameplay.

Use:

Living Together During Divorce

You can manage Home Tension, house rules, bills, sleeping arrangements, guests, dating boundaries, house meetings, parenting boundaries, and move-out plans.

PHONE ACCESS

The optional phone-menu package requires XML Injector.

RECOVERY & RESET

If something gets stuck, do not immediately delete the mod or restart your entire save.

Open:

STAY OR GO → Recovery & Reset

Recovery tools are there for things like stuck counseling appointments, legal progress, custody transfers, or other case states that did not finish correctly.

For custody specifically, the recovery section can move children back to the parent the current custody schedule says they should be with.

Use recovery for an actual stuck system. It is not meant to skip normal gameplay.

SETTINGS

Check Gameplay Settings before starting a long storyline.

You can control things like legal autonomy, spouse-response behavior, costs, timing, notifications, counseling behavior, mediation, court progression, and cohabiting-divorce notifications.

If you want full control, keep legal autonomy OFF / Manual.

If you want the other spouse making more decisions on their own, use Respondent Story Mode.

If you want more of the legal case to progress without clicking every single step, use Full Story Mode.

PLEASE READ — THIS IS BETA

Beta means TESTING.

Early Access is also part of the testing period before the mod goes public.

You are getting access early so the mod can be played across different saves, households, game setups, and storylines before the worldwide/public release.

There may still be bugs.

There may be something that works perfectly in my test save and behaves differently in yours.

If something breaks, tell me what you clicked, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened. Screenshots or videos help a LOT.

Please test with a backup/copy of your save if the save is important to you.

Early Access does not mean “final build with zero possibility of bugs.” It means you’re getting the mod before public release and helping me catch anything that still needs fixing.

If you find something, report it. Don’t assume I already know about it.
