A JayESims Media Original

This release is personal, intentional, and necessary.

Diagnosed - The Chapters: Lupus is part of the Diagnosed series, created to give real stories space inside gameplay. This mod isn’t about shock value or aesthetics. It’s about visibility, honesty, and letting Sims live with the same layered realities many people carry every day.

Lupus is often misunderstood because it’s invisible to others while being exhausting, painful, and isolating to the person living with it. This mod centers that truth. It reflects fatigue that doesn’t go away with rest, plans that change last minute, people saying “you don’t look sick,” and the strength it takes to keep going anyway.

Why This Mod Matters

This mod exists because chronic illness deserves more than a trait label. It deserves conversations, emotions, and space to be acknowledged. It allows Sims to talk about flare days, identity, friendships lost, emotional exhaustion, and the fight to not be reduced to a diagnosis while still honoring how real the experience is.

What This Adds to Gameplay

This mod was built with care, research, and respect. It is not about trauma dumping. It is about representation done right.

Important Note on Awareness

If you or someone you love may be experiencing symptoms, early conversations matter.

Common signs of lupus can include:

  • Extreme or persistent fatigue

  • Joint pain, swelling, or stiffness

  • Skin rashes (especially facial or sun-triggered)

  • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating

  • Unexplained fevers

  • Sensitivity to sunlight

  • Chest pain or shortness of breath during flare-ups

Symptoms vary widely. Lupus looks different on everyone.

Trusted Resources

If you want to learn more, get support, or explore next steps, these organizations provide reliable information and advocacy:

  • Lupus Foundation of America — lupus.org

  • CDC Lupus Overview — cdc.gov/lupus

  • NIH Lupus Information — nhlbi.nih.gov

  • National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases — niams.nih.gov

This mod is not medical advice. It’s representation, storytelling, and awareness.

Thank you for supporting work that doesn’t shy away from real life. Thank you for letting this series exist. And thank you for making space for stories that deserve to be told.
