Family, this one’s from the heart. Postpartum isn’t just a “new baby glow.” It’s a fourth trimester full of body changes, sleep deprivation, identity shifts, scary thoughts, and the quiet moments nobody posts. I’ve watched friends fight through it. I’ve listened to supporters share what it really felt like behind the smiles. Representation matters here. Our Sims deserve stories that hold the hard parts and the soft ones, too.

This mod exists because we need to talk about it. We need space for truth, grace, and healingwithout shame.

What’s inside (Part 1)

  • 1 new trait: Postpartum Mama (raw, honest, and nuanced)

  • 7 new social interactions that capture the real conversations moms have in the fourth trimester

  • New buffs + story notifications so the emotions read like diary pages in your gameplay

Inspired by community

This mod was inspired not only by my friends’ journeys, but also by a supporter in our Facebook Mod Haus group who told a powerful story with her Sim living through postpartum: Aliyahh Nycolee. Thank you for inspiring this work and reminding us why these stories matter. 🖤

Why this pack is needed

  • Representation: Parenthood is more than baby showers—postpartum is real, common, and often invisible.

  • Storytelling with truth: Your save files get richer when we can show joy, fear, exhaustion, and love without pretending.

  • Culture of care: When we normalize these conversations, more people get help sooner.

Know the signs (so you can check on your Sims—and yourself)

Everyone’s experience is different, but these are common flags worth taking seriously:

  • Persistent sadness, anxiety, irritability, or feeling numb

  • Trouble bonding with baby; intrusive or scary thoughts

  • Panic attacks, racing heart, or constant dread

  • Changes in sleep/appetite beyond “newborn tired”

  • Thoughts of self-harm or harming the baby (emergency—get help immediately)

  • Postpartum psychosis (rare, but urgent): confusion, hallucinations, delusions, extreme mood swings—seek emergency care

You are not “failing” if you feel any of this. You are not alone.

Free/low-cost resources we vetted (step-by-step)

(Search these by name in your country for the latest details and local options.)

  1. Postpartum Support International (PSI) — free virtual support groups, help finding therapists and peer mentors.

  2. Shades of Blue Project — support for women of color experiencing perinatal mood & anxiety disorders; groups and assistance.

  3. 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (U.S.) — 24/7 free emotional support if you’re in crisis or need to talk now.

  4. Crisis Text Line — text-based support (e.g., text HOME in many regions) for immediate, confidential help.

  5. National Maternal Mental Health resources (U.S.) — government-backed referrals and hotlines for postpartum depression/anxiety.

If you’re outside the U.S., check your country’s health ministry or local perinatal mental health orgs—there are often free/low-cost groups nearby.

From the bottom of my heart: I love y’all deep. You are not alone.
Thank you for trusting me with your stories and letting me build them into gameplay with care.

I really appreciate this mod and especially the resources you provided in this post. The real life impact of PP depression is far reaching and can be devastating, not only to new mommy, but also the baby, any siblings and daddy. I can see a lot of opportunity for companion mods. Thank you so much!
