TFT (Teamfight Tactics) is the league-world game I play! It's a competitive auto-battler in a lobby of 8, and you build teams (with synergies that help each other) that fight other people's teams 1v1, losing health until 1 person wins.
This episode gives a further glimpse into Jinxs suicidal ideation. She was pumped full of shimmer from when Singed saved her life after she tried to kill herself on the bridge. Now she is super human. When she says "no matter what I do, I cant seem to die" its cause shes trying. She wanted Vi to kill her and tells her "Im glad its you, it had to be you" when Vi was about to do it. Thats why she gets annoyed at Isha gets in the way and tells Sevika "this is not how its supposed to go" when she triggers the vent. And yeah, the explosion was the Grey mixed with paint in true Jinx fashion.
-Amara is the name of the woman killed by Ambessa. She had only one important appearance in season 1, when she became a benefactor for Jayce's Hextech, as she's an influential member of Piltover's Merchant Guild, a facade, of course, as the scene with Ambessa reveals she's part of the faction that has a feud with the Medarda family, on which you'll learn more as the season goes on. -I Googled it and it turns up that the Grey is called as such because it is in fact gray of color in its natural form, but it turns green when weaponized. -Jinx got injected with Shimmer by Singed back in the second-to-last episode of season 1, now it's part of her biology and lets her make crazy, speedy moves and maneuvers. -Yes, Jinx's colored show in Piltover was indeed the Grey! The kid Ambessa uses as an example for Zaunites' action during the final scene has red eyes caused by the Grey. -Caitlyn couldn't care less about killing Sevika, she was only an obstacle blocking her from getting to Jinx. As soon as Sevika was immobilized, Caitlyn went straight for Jinx, her obsession. -The "It's you" flashback was to show that it was Ambessa who spurred the Zaunaties to attack the memorial back in episode 1, only to purposefully wait for the perfect moment to save the day and be seen as heroes. She's been slowly building her image as the savior in the eyes of Piltover, so that her takeover at the end of this episode would feel justified.
*cheers for cait and vi’s first kiss only to have cait beat us and vi with her gun causing endless heartbreak lol* I think this is honestly one of the best episodes of the entire series. From the comic book-y animation of the opening to the fight scene between vi, jinx, cait, and sevika, to everything going on with Jayce, ekko, and heimerdinger in the hexgate. Also wanted to point out how at the end of that fight scene jinx called out to sevika “no this isn’t how it was supposed to go” like she didn’t want her to release the grey on vi and cait or the explosions in piltover like she had changed her mind. Just thought that was interesting. And I don’t think anyone has brought this up before but elora, Mel’s assistant/friend was voiced by Erica lindbeck (va for loona from helluva boss).
Ambessa is an opportunist, what they showed in that scene at the end was that the leader of her army was the one who helped the Chem Baron woman who wanted to avenge her son into the funeral. That was how they got in and also why they didn't kill Mel despite having a point blank shot on her! Also the way the plot points all converge down the council until finally, in this opportune moment, there is no one left (with Mel and Jayce "gone") to stop her or fight back from the council, chef's kiss!
Caitlyn has entered her hot dictator era 🤣 I feel so bad for Vi at this point in the story. She’s like the embodiment of The Moral Compass and she keeps getting brutalized and cast aside by the other characters To poorly explain my novel, ‘the local wishing well has had enough of your shit’. Doesn’t matter if the music has lyrics or not, I can tune that part into the background; the emotion is what’s important while I’m writing.
Actually, I woke up to this one too! I am on the west coast but since I lost my job in May I've been sleeping in REAL late. I'm trying to flip it back around but not having a whole lot of success 😅 The music in this episode is so good, even better than I remember it. I really liked that one you Shazam-ed, Hellfire. I don't actually remember hearing it the first time around but it's such a banger! I do feel like this is kind of where the story gets a little less tight than Season 1. Some of the things happening and character motivations get a little harder to follow in my opinion, so don't feel bad if you get a little confused. It's still a great experience and visually/sonically stunning.
Been jamming to Hellfire today myself!
